Holiday Inn Express Suites

My new friends are going back to San Francisco the next day. They offered to let me stay at their 4 bedroom house in a gated village. Magmumulto ako doon because I would be alone. That was a very generous offer considering we just met 30 hours ago. I politely declined.

I had already paid for my hotels up to the end of my visit here. And I don’t think I would feel comfortable there.

I moved out of The Strip last friday to stay in a quieter hotel a little farther away. Paris Las Vegas was also fully booked from June 23 to 25 so I checked out and checked in at the simpler business hotel, the Holiday Inn Express Suites.

When I checked in, I was asked if I wanted to move to a higher floor. They reserved a room on the ground floor. At first I wanted to move to a higher floor to have a view of the canyons and The Strip but after I’ve seen the room, I felt lazy to transfer. I appreciated the convenience of being on the ground floor. I couldn’t access their wifi so I kept on going back to the front desk asking for help. The softdrinks, snacks, water, ice vending machines were directly in front of my room so that also provided me with some comfort level na hindi ako magugutom and mauuhaw. When other guests came to get drinks, the sound was not loud.

Room rates in Las Vegas fluctuate on a daily basis. It’s crazy. Weekdays are super cheap but they will hit you on weekends and holidays. Rates can quadruple. Like this hotel, on regular days, their room rates are $117 or sometimes even less, but for this weekend, I paid $360 for two nights. At the Paris Hotel, the weekend rate was almost $400 and they were fully booked.

This is a business hotel. There are no gambling tables in the lobby. It’s quiet, simple, and the room rate includes daily buffet breakfast, not as elaborate as in 5-star hotels but good enough to start the day right.
