We made a quick stop in Ford Cainta on our way to our native land Binangonan. This is Len and Bong’s first time here.
I have a small freezer here, kaya we brought the ice candies for tomorrow’s distribution in Binangonan. Para bukas matigas na.

We used to join the Holy Wednesday procession in Binangonan. But lately, we have stopped and just concentrated on our panata every Good Friday- Giving-out of ice cold water, white towels, bread, and ice candy to the devotees.

Sobra na kasi ang haba ng prusisyon sa Binangonan. Grabe. At sobrang dami na ring Santo.
The last time we joined, we didn’t feel it was a religious activity kasi para lang lakad na lang ng lakad. Naguguluhan na ako. I kept on looking behind me kasi yung mga kabataan eh naglalandian, yung kandila ay malapit na sa likod ko. Baka ako maging fried itik.

We arrived at 7 pm. We first dropped-off the Iwata, carpets, 10 plastic chairs, table, covers, toilet papers, etc. in Libis, at the house where we station ourselves every Good Friday.

We said hi to Ate Elsie. Aileen wanted to eat in Jollibee but when we saw the panit canton from James Chopsuey house, we changed our minds and ended up eating one bandehado of pancit canton with tasty bread. Delicious.

I joined the procession last night because Aileen and Bong were with me. I remembered it used to start at around 8 pm but someone advised us it would start at 6 pm. I wanted to bring them muna to Balaw-Balaw para hindi na kami makikain or mag-Jollibee but we just went straight so as not to be late. We were caught in some heavy traffic along Taytay’s Manila East Road and Muzon because they too had their own processions.

I bought 5 candles for P20 each from Rochelle. I chose the fat ones hoping that the wicks would be able to withstand the breeze.
I also brought two battery operated tea light in case.

We joined the procession at around 9:30 pm at the corner of Rizal and Paterno Streets where the drainage was so bantot.
I felt dizzy while watching the santos. Every year na lang ganyan kabaho yun. (Attention: people living in that area, pls hose it).

The tea lights de-baterya proved useful kasi the winds kept on blowing the candles.

Aileen didn’t want to finish the procession because her friends were already waiting for her on the second floor of Jollibee.
Maret (from Riyadh), Matet, Angie (from Queens), Len (from San Francisco), Philip (from Las Vegas) and Bong (SFO).
Matet is the only one based in the country.
