Husband wants to move to Iceland

Over breakfast, my husband just all of a sudden said “Gusto kong pumunta sa Iceland”. I thought he wanted to have a vacation.
“Kung bata-bata pa lang ako”.
Ooops, teka, does one need to be a lot younger to visit Iceland?

Where are his words coming from? Why all of a sudden….

Yun pala, he read a news article that the Iceland government is inviting men from all over the world to come relocate to their country because they lack men. Their population is dwindling so they need reinforcement. Come and marry here. Edmund said there would be a US$5,000 a month stipend. Wow, that’s P240,000 @ 48/dollar.

E—–“Kung bata pa lang ako”.
A—–“Binasa mo bang mabuti kung merong age limit?”
E—–“Hindi na ako pwede”.
A—–“Baka sabihin ang kailangan nila groom hindi father of the groom”.

Aba mukhang desidido, iiwan ako for $5,000. A month!!!!

For those who are interested to relocate and marry an Icelandic girl, first thing to remember, they just don’t throw themselves in front of foreigners.
Mag-igib ng tubig, magsibak ng kahoy.

Iceland is a beautiful country. My daughter and her friends were there last year. There are only 330,000 people living there, with only one Chinese restaurant. There are about 30 Cebuanos working in a factory.

I hope one day I also get to visit Iceland. I want to see the aurora borealis. The colorful picture in my elementary science book registered well in my head. I have a poor memory but the name aurora borealis is one of those things I remembered from my science class.
