Wouldn’t it be nice if Theo had a small playground at the farm?
I found this lovely photo of a complete playground set on Google. For my purpose, I want a simple one only. It’s only for one kid, my apo.
I told Edmund late last year about my wanting to build a small playground for our apopoo.
I want Theo to be as happy as he can be when he’s visiting.
We have some extra space at the farm and a slide and a swing can fit.
Edmund started searching online, but after a few months, he said he couldn’t find a good one.
So I did the research and I found two major suppliers importing big equipment from saan pa eh di from China. They built massive playgrounds in subdivisions, barangays, shopping malls, schools, private clubhouses, etc. Natakot naman ako kasi baka sobrang expensive. Nonetheless, at midnight, I emailed these two and only one responded.
The sales agent and his manager went all the way to our place to present the choices which were many.
A—— “Gusto ko yung kahit teenager na sya pwede pa syang magslide. Pwede kahit adults.”
Sales agent —- “Yes mam, up 2 to 12 years old, kahit adults pwede.”
A—— “Naku, ang mahal pala, eh para sa apo ko lang, hindi naman for public use.”
A—— “Do you manufacture these?”
Sales agent—— “No mam, they are imported.”
A—— “From China?”
Sales agent —– “Quality naman ho.”
A—— “Ayoko ng made in China, sinasakop na nga nila tayo. Do you have from other countries?”
Sales agent—– “Meron mam, from Germany, mas makapal and quality talaga.”
A—— “Sige yun ang gusto ko. Magkano?”
Sales agent —– “Mam, sampung doble ang presyo.”
A—— “Nakupoo, huwag na yun, I cannot afford.”
A—— “I don’t want to spend too much money because he seldom comes here. Baka he’ll outgrow it fast. Bihira lang naman magagamit ng apo ko”.
Sales agent —— “Meron din mam kami imported from Malaysia.”
A—— “Yan, yan, sige yan na lang, how much?”
Sales agent —– “Kaya lang mam, triple ang presyo.”
A——“Sige yung from China na lang”.
Kunwari pa ako, China rin pala ang bagsak.
I wanted to see the actual slide, swing, etc. I was supposed to inform them ahead of time so they could assemble the ones I liked at their office. I haven’t done that and I am running out of time because Theo’s next visit is probably in late December or early January. I want him to run and scream in delight when he sees it. Yun sana ang Christmas gift ko sa kanya.
I am having second thoughts because of the practicality. Theo starts school in second week of January and I am not sure when Wowo and Wowa will be able to bring him to the farm again. Baka bago nya makita eh luma at, madumi na, at malutong na yung slide. Let me give it one last thought. Hmmmm, isip isip isip.
