Last February, our travel agency talked me into buying two cheap tickets to HK. Parang naki Travel Fair fever. Mura lang daw kasi. They billed us P19,000+ for the two round trip economy tickets. I gave a far away dates of October 15-19, 2015.
I’ve almost forgotten that my son and I have these tickets. I only booked for our hotel three days prior to October 15. I actually regretted buying those tickets. I could get free business class tickets from my PALSmiles. My children said it’s okay because HK is only a two hour flight. Tama naman.
So here we are, my son and I traveling to HK.
PAL ground crew, Kiel Narido. Her duty starts at 2 am.
While waiting for our flight, I met Zumba instructor from Davao, Berna Molieta, who flew in from Davao that early morning to connect to her flight to Bangkok, Thailand.
Berna is a woman in-love. She’s going to Thailand to spend two weeks holiday with her Australian fiancee. They met at an online dating site just early this year. They met once then he surprised her by going to Davao from Queensland. She showed me their photo after the proposal. She was holding a large floral bouquet with the guy’s arms around her. He’s so macho, with big muscles and the left arm was covered with tattoos. Berna’s 28 and the youngest in a brood of 8. She and her Australian fiancee are going to be based in Queensland right after their wedding.
We had several hours of wait. My son went to buy sandwiches. I bought a pack of Goldilocks butter macaroons.
How come prices at the airport are double than the prices outside? Is it because of the high rental cost?
The NAIA 2 airport terminal looks nice din naman.
We’re boarding.
I didn’t know that PAL now uses smaller plane to HK. I’ve been to HK dozens of times and this would be the first time that I would be flying to the colony on a smaller jet.
Oh my it was so cramped. No place to put my handbag. I was in the middle seat. I felt so claustrophobic. I wanted to stand up. My son told me it’ just a two hour flight.
The female passenger on my left side (window) ordered tomato juice. Naku baka matapunan ako o bag ko. Wag naman sana.
My son and I had Chicken Inasal.
It was delicious. I forgot to open the sauce.
I was too close to my neighbor. Hard for me to move my arms, otherwise I could knock off her food tray.
My son was happy with his meal. Ubos.
My seatmate refilled her water jar. Since there was really no space to move, before I knew it the jar was right in front of my face. The water spilled, a little lang naman.
Water was fine, but when she asked for coffee, I got scared because it was steaming hot. It might spill on me or on my bag.
45 minutes more and I was so bored. My son was snoring. Nothing to read. I entertained myself by taking photos of me. Wah ang dami kong wrinkles nakaka freak-out.
Oops nagising anak ko.
Omb—–“Anak can you pls take my picture? I need to stretch my face for the camera, para no wrinkles”.
Nyke—–“Mom, you look ridiculous”.
The passenger beside me gave me a mint candy. Nice naman pala sya.
We’ve started our descent according to the pilot announcement.
Makapagpabango nga. As if naman aamuyin ako nung immigration officer.
