I think I lost my baon, Euro 2,000 cash. I couldn’t find it, it’s not in any of the compartments in my bag, not in my luggage, hand-carry, not in any of the two pouches in my bag. I’ve also called my daughter to search for it at home in case I left it in my bathroom. No, she didn’t find it either.
She asked me if there was an instance when I left my bag at home, unattended. Syempre many times. I was conscious that it contained money but still, I must have left it for a few minutes. It’s hard to say that someone sneaked in and took my money.
That was 4 bills of Euro 500 each which I’ve been keeping for the past two years. Yan yung mga excess from previous travels. Inipon ko and placed them inside a small plastic.
I remembered putting the money inside the plastic pouch in my bag. Baka nalaglag during the flight from Clark to Qatar. My bag has no zipper, every now and then I would open it, close it, at one point tila my bag fell upside down while I was seated. Baka nahulog sa may ilalim ng seat ko.
Ang swerte ng makakuha. Euro 2,000 is equivalent to P104,000 based on today’s currency conversion rate. That’s also equivalent to Hungarian Forint 614,000. I could buy many things with that amount.
Sigh. Sigh-yang.
It’s only the first day of my Europe travel and I lost my baon already. I don’t want to ruin my mood or my trip, pero parang gusto ko ng umuwi. Pinipigilan ko lang pero gusto ko ng umiyak. Isang ihip na lang ng hangin, tutulo na ang luha ko.
Sayang talaga Ms. Annie.
