I went down to Ikea yesterday afternoon and patiently waited for a sundae cone. I was 30th in line but the line moved fast enough so hindi naman ako nainip.
That basement is jampacked with people, eating, resting, shopping. People have spilled over to Ikea’s display section. I ate my ice cream seated on one of the chairs on display.
I am truly amazed at how Ikea thought of converting this place into a super store. The HK franchisee is a genius. People are really buying.
Ikea clicks here because residents generally have small flats. Ikea is the key to a great looking small space.
This banyo is super liit but look at how nice it is.
I think the merchandise here at Ikea in Hongkong has more variety than the one in Ikea Emeryville. Despite the disparity in size, there are more cute stuff here in HK.
I want to buy that quilted gauze pero mabigat naman iuwi. Meron kaya nito sa Ikea in Emeryville?
I saw a kababayan named Cristy buying this ironing board. I told her “marami nyan sa Divisoria”, she told me they are far from Divisoria, they live in Pangasinan.
This couple is already waiting at the check-out counter. The guy is making an inventory of what’s in their cart. The woman had to explain and justify what the item is for. She got 3 packs of lavander potpourri. Tapos after she explained, he removed the 3 items from their cart and put them away. Tapos he picked up the cute chopping board and asked the woman again, tapos there’s nothing that she said that convinced him to get it, He removed the chopping board and dumped it in a container near the cashier. He continued auditing everything in their cart. Nakakainis naman kung ganito ang asawa mo.
Pag ganito, wala ka ng freedom of expression and to choose what you want to get or have or buy. Sya ba ang magbabayad? kaya, ladies, work, earn, kahit konti lang basta pera mo yun. So that when you go shopping, wala syang pakialam kung anong bibilhin mo. Ano ba naman yan pati chopping board pakikialaman pa!
