Is that our television? - Oh My Buhay

I was laughing at my friend’s story. Yes, tsismis on the side while attending a conference.
Her story was about another friend of hers from high school. Let’s refer to her as Liz. They saw each other during a mini-reunion at a restaurant with 8 other classmates. Liz was very vocal about her life, maybe due to the martini.

Liz told them that last December she won a flat screen television from a fundraising event.
They installed it in her son’s bedroom which doubles as the guest room. He is now based in Los Angeles with his wife. Liz said the tv has a big scratch on the lower right-hand side of the frame. That was accidentally scratched by her maid who helped carry the tv. She used a scissor to remove the sticky tape and the tv was scratched.

Her husband suggested that he would trade it with a bigger one. They boxed the tv she won in the raffle, then her husband took it away. The next day he came home with a bigger and new model version. That was last December.

In February, she and her husband attended a birthday party that coincided with a housewarming of a condo of his officemate in BGC. She knew most of the guests because they’ve been friends for a long time.

After eating, she looked for the toilet. The birthday celebrant offered to let her use the toilet in the master’s bedroom. When she got out of the toilet, she noticed the tv in the room. Instinctively, she looked at the lower right-hand part and noticed it also has a big scratch, very similar to the scratch their former tv had.

When she told her husband about the similarity, he said “nagkapareho lang siguro.”

When they got home, she confronted him again. She asked if he exchanged their tv as what he claimed or he actually gifted it to their friend. He said why would he give their friend the tv?

Liz went to the store and verified if they still have the receipt of the exchange. She was asked to wait for several days so they could retrieve the files. After two weeks, they said they didn’t have a record of any exchange, they only have a copy of the receipt of the bigger tv her husband bought using his credit card.
