I brought Len and Bong to the Floating Resto also called Isdaan, in Gerona, Tarlac.
We left Baguio around 1 pm and arrived in Isdaan at 4 pm. The sun was still up and it was kind of hot but I found a kubo that’s closer to the shade.
Buti na lang my companions liked the place.
Isdaan floating restaurant
This place is continuously expanding. There’s always something new.
The parakeets, chickens, giant Balinese statues, etc.
The place has an eclectic decor. It isn’t pure Filipino. It’s a mix of Balinese, Disney fantasy, Filipino, and what have you. They even have a Buddha.
A woman selling pastillas with carabao’s milk came to our kubo. We bought two boxes for pasalubong. I forgot how much I paid for them, maybe P280 per box.
Our table is near the area where they throw plates against the wall. I could hear the sound of crashing ceramics. I could also see the back and side view of the 3 people who were having fun breaking plates. Gusto ko silang puntahan at sigawan. Hey, what’s your problem?
Baka naman sa akin ibato yung mga pinggan.
I was actually annoyed. Honestly I don’t find this amusing or funny. My feeling is that people who break things that are still useful and still have value to those who have less in life are irresponsible. Hoy, pwede ba maghunus-dili kayo? Maraming mga Pilipino ni walang pinggan.
Instead of paying P150 to break a pitchel, pwede ba just give the money to the very poor. You’ll feel better too. Remember, if you accidentally break a plate, it balances the negative chi, pampaalis ng malas. BUT BUT BUT, if you purposely break plates, your anger will not dissipate, you are attracting the negative chi.
Meron bang luku-luko na bibili ng tv for P2,000 tapos babasagin lang? Kung meron man, ang tawag ko sa kanya HAMBOG, SIRA-ULO. Pasikat at pasakit. Ang bigat-bigat nyan. Bubwelo ka pa para maibato mo yan. Maipitan ka pa ng ugat at ma dislocate joints mo, lalong nadagdagan problema mo.
To save on time, I told Len and Bong to start exploring and take pictures, while I did the ordering. I ordered chopped mangoes with salted egg and onions (green mango salad), kare-kare, fried hito which I requested to be crispier, prawns in coconut milk, rice, fresh coconut juice, and fresh ripe mango shake for Aileen. Bong was too afraid to drink the fresh buko juice. Baka daw masira ang tyan nya. Ako na lang ang uminom.
See that big bamboo? that’s where they placed the shrimp cooked in coconut milk (guinataang hipon), pa-epek. Ano na nga ba ang tawag dyan? Buli-buli?
My sister loved the crispy hito. She finished two pieces and I ate one.
When I buy hito from the grocery or wet market, I have the heads chopped-off. The heads don’t have any more value. They look gross.
They serve rice on cute calderos. We re-ordered one more caldero but 80% of the rice were fed to the hundreds of koi in the pond.
We left Gerona, Tarlac at almost 6 pm and arrived home at around 8:40 pm
