There’s a newly opened Island Pacific Seafood Market in North Park Blvd beside Home Depot and WinCo Foods.
There’s a Filipino fast food / restaurant right at the entrance and a drop-off counter of ALAS Cargo on the left side.
They sell tickets for Filipino events. Anne Curtis has an upcoming concert on September 1.
Edmund asked why the Hopias were frozen. Freezing prolongs the shelf life.
There were many varieties of rice from Thailand and Vietnam but none from the Philippines.
All Filipino stores here sell Eskinol and Belo products.
We wanted to eat Filipino foods for a change but they were about to close at 8:30 pm. The grocery closes at 9 pm but we didn’t want to be rushed.
We bought two balikbayan boxes.
I wanted to buy fresh kanduli because I miss sinigang na kanduli, yung luto ng Papa ko, but Edmund said “dadami ang ingredients mo”. He meant we had to buy all the ingredients and may not be worth it.
Instead of cooking sinigang na kanduli, kain na lang daw kami dun sa restaurant but this dish wasn’t included in their menu.
We went to McDo instead. Edmund has been craving for their Angus Burger.
Wala na pala ito in their menu since May.
We transferred next door to KFC.
While waiting for our food we noticed some people acting strange. There was a guy talking to himself (just like me), pasuray-suray ang lakad tila lasing or high.
Edmund decided “to go” na lang daw at delicado dun. He told me “baka matangay ang relo mo.”
Baka daw may mang-hold-up, gabi na kasi, 9:40 pm.
I ordered 2 piece chicken, they gave me 3.
Edmund ordered 3 pieces, they gave him 4.
They gave us extra gravy and biscuits, at no extra charge. This is America!
