According to his critics, the speech delivered by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu at the joint session of the US Congress was full of rhetorics. Maybe, but all speeches are loaded with attention-getting, heart endearing delivery to get the audience’s attention and sympathy.
“Today the Jewish people face another attempt by yet another Persian potentate to destroy us. Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei spews the oldest hatred, the oldest hatred of anti-Semitism with the newest technology. He tweets that Israel must be annihilated — he tweets. You know, in Iran, there isn’t exactly free Internet. But he tweets in English that Israel must be destroyed”.
“I’m standing here in Washington, D.C. and the difference is so stark. America’s founding document promises life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Iran’s founding document pledges death, tyranny, and the pursuit of jihad”.
His speech was basically an appeal to the US government to postpone the signing of the nuclear deal with Iran. Netanyahu has a deep lack of trust on Iran. He believes the agreement with the US would enable Iran to continue manufacturing nuclear weapons which it could use to bomb Israel. He said it’s a very bad deal and we are better off without it. “The lessons of history had been learned. Not to sacrifice the future for the past. Genocide, those days are over”.
“The world should demand that Iran do three things.
First, stop its aggression against its neighbors in the Middle East.
Second, stop supporting terrorism around the world.
And third, stop threatening to annihilate my country, Israel, the one and only Jewish state”,
“We, the Jewish people, can defend ourselves. We have boundless courage. Even if we stand alone, Israel will stand”.
(I think I’ve been to this chamber in September 2014. I will forever be grateful for that once in a lifetime opportunity.)

I say Prime Minister Netanyahu got my sympathy. I felt his sincerity. It’s one of the best speeches I’ve ever heard. He and the Jewish people want peace. I do to. Peace we all desire, for you, me and to all of humanity.
I can feel the distrust of Netanyahu over the Iranians (and Palestinians). They are out to destroy Israel at all cost after the Islamic Revolution in 1979. The war with Hezbollah and Hamas is a proxy war between Iran and Israel. Hence, I nuclear Iran is very dangerous to the existence of Israel.
