I have strong reservations with what President Duterte wanted us to do.
I was deeply saddened and got extremely worried when he encouraged people to report to him abuses in government or report drug users and pushers. “Isumbong mo sa akin, kahit hindi totoo”.
Why should we ask people to destroy people’s lives and reputations by reporting lies? Kung hindi naman po tutoo eh bakit po natin hihikayatin ang mga tao na magsumbong? Waste of your time, kasi iimbestigahan pa kung totoo. Sayang ang buhay, dahil papatayin yung tao na wala naman palang kasalanan. At bakit natin tuturuan ang mga tao na mag-imbento na kasinungalingan? This is too dangerous. What good would this do to our country and fellow men?
I was seated beside Atty. Opap Villonco at the forum, he said “nakakatakot yan dahil ang mga Pilipino pa naman, maraming mga inggitero”. Kung naiinggit sa’yo kahit kaibigan mo at kamag-anak, eh di gagawan ka ng istorya, magsusumbong ng hindi naman tutoo para masira ang buhay mo. Mukhang hindi yata dapat ganito. Why would we teach our people and children to do something bad? Only bad people do this kind of things— na mag-iimbento para manira ng tao.
Mga kababayan, huwag po nating gagawin ang ganitong masamang ugali. Wag magsinungaling para ipahamak ang kapwa. Sa halip, MAGMALASAKIT sa isa’t isa. Magtulungan. Magdamayan.
A true leader inspires his followers to do good thru leadership by example.
