Fr. Peter Coching has perfected the art of modulating his voice. When we first met him, we were drawn to his ala Radio announcer na boses. Yun pala talaga syang radio announcer ng Radio Veritas. Nagmimisa sila at nagse-sermon over the radio.
He sings well too. Lately Edmund thinks he has become too eloquent to the point of losing some connection to his audience. Kasi daw tuloy-tuloy ang salita, para na lang minemorya.
We haven’t received the communion for quite sometime.
We went to Shangrila Mall to exchange Nyke’s ZARA jacket. That’s my Christmas gift to him eh medyo masikip daw. Large na nga yun. But the whole place was dark. Sarado pala.
We went to the nearby SM Megamall, the new wing. There’s a big Zara there but we left the jacket in the van, not wanting to walk around carrying a big shopping bag. Saka na lang, anyway Nyke has two more weeks to have it exchanged.
O———–“Mom, how long do you think this would stay like this, without SM putting stores in the middle?”
A———–“3 months”.
E———–“Within a year meron na yan”.
We went up to the third floor where new restaurants are. Oyen chose this restaurant Osaka Ohsho. She has brought me here once for a late night dinner after we watched the premier showing of the movie Bonifacio starring Robin Padilla, Daniel Padilla and Vina Morales.
She likes this place but I feel crowded. The seat is not comfortable, lumulubog yung foam, kaya para rin akong nakalubog. Masyadong mataas sa akin yung table. I used their hard menu book as butt support. It helped a little. Edmund said I should ask for a high chair, yung pang toddlers.
There’s a wooden paneling on the ceiling, feeling ko naman naka suklob sa akin.
Their gyoza is the best daw in the world. Sino kaya ang maysabi? Did they conduct a worldwide survey? Their gyoza tastes okay but fairly standard, similar to all the gyozas I’ve eaten in other Japanese restaurants in Manila and other countries.

Family dessert – yogurt
Mahilig ako sa yogurt pero namamahalan talaga ako. I understand that the cost of doing business especially here in the Philippines is very high especially rent, electricity and salaries.
In my mind kasi, yogurt should not cost P200-P300 a cup. Para na rin kasing kumain ng main dish.
My son gladly paid for our yogurts na umabot yata ng halos isang libong piso. Nasa shock pa rin ako. Nung college ako twenty five pesos a week lang ang baon ko. Limang piso isang araw. Buti na lang hindi pa uso ang yogurt nuon. Kung hindi para akong pulubi na tatakam-takam at titingin-tingin lang, cannot afford.
Baka pag may apo na ako, one thousand na each cup of yogurt. Dyos ko.
