I didn’t know what I was thinking.
Mistake #1
I thought January 2 would be less people. The holidays are over kaya naisip ko, it would now be fun to go to Tagaytay because gone are the thousands of vacationists. And Oh boy I was totally wrong. January 2 to 4 pala are still holidays and long weekend. Patay! In Sta. Rosa pa lang, super traffic na. It took us an hour to reach Aguinaldo Hway from the Nuvali area.
My mistake #2
Upon reaching the intersection, we turned left going to Crosswinds to have lunch in Cafe Vio-la. I thought, the traffic would be on the right side going to the restaurants row after the rotonda.
I was totally wrong. Throngs of people were going to the People’s Park. Kaya barado ang kalye.
It took us half hour to reach Crosswinds.
Mistake #3
My first dining experience in Cafe Voi-la was okay. No tao, presko at tahimik. Not on January 2, 2015.
The restaurant was full. We managed to get a table in front of the toilet. Kaya alam na alam ko yung masyadong matagal sa loob.
Menu—- After having trouble choosing from their eclectic list, wala naman yung napili ko. The only reason why I brought Oyen there was for her to taste the satay. I just liked the presentation or plating. Tapos wala daw. Maraming wala na sa menu. Sorry, we’ve ran out of this and that.
Service
Siguro because they’re not used to having this many customers, parang tuliro yung mga waiters.
They kept bringing us food that we didn’t order. Four times. It happened four times.
kahit sinabing ng that’s not our order, ilalagay pa rin sa table namin. Wala sa sarili. Tired na siguro.
Food
We split this Senator’s salad. Reminded us of Le Souffle’s Salad a la Tessie.
I didn’t know what to order next. I settled for Fish and Chips.
We asked for a dip that has more kick, something that would make me smile. Yung masarap naman. Para kasing walang lasa. I will not order this again next time I go back to Cafe Voila
From Crosswinds, we thought of turning around and going back to Manila. Kaya lang parang sayang naman, we’re here already.
It took us an hour and a half to reach Savemore past Mendez. That’s normally a 10 minute drive. My only regret was my daughter was with me.
Napagod sya sa traffic.
We left our house in Quezon City at 10:30 am minus one hour lunch break in Crosswinds, We finally reached our destination at 4:30 pm. I was paying attention to the grass I was walking on, trying to avoid the cows’ oo oo. I didn’t notice that I came too close to this cow. Nagulat ako kasi when I looked up, the cow was running towards me, susuwagin ako. Napatakbo ako pabalik. Ewan ba bakit the neighbors like to graze their cows in this area. Eh matapang pala ito. I am having second thoughts of buying a pet cow. Baka mainis lang ako eh ipa bip pilit ko sya kay Antonia.
Instead of going back to Tagaytay’s main road, Oyen used Waze to find alternative roads. We went thru Indang, Imus, Trece Martirez where we stopped at a Jollibee outlet for pee break. We also bought some pastries from Red Ribbon and to ask for directions, how to get to SLEX.
Red Ribbon guy——–“Sumakay kayo ng jeep papuntang >>> Alam mo yung____ , merong terminal ng bus duon, tapos sumakay kayo papuntang Pasay, pagdating nyo sa Pasay, meron dung mga jeep…….”.
