Water rates will increase in January according to Maynilad. Reason? Their salaries and perks increase?
We can expect the same justifications:
If we want better rides, more efficient and upgraded MRT, then we have to pay more.
If we want no brown-outs, then we have to pay more.
If we want to have water flowing from our faucets, we have to pay more.
We consumers are captives.
