I went to Mercato from FORD CAINTA last saturday before I watched the UST-ADMU first game. I wanted to order roast beef for my daughter but the food stalls inside the airconditioned tent were no longer there. No one could tell me where they transferred.
It was 1:30 pm and I realized I haven’t had lunch so I asked the driver to drop me off at the cluster of smaller eateries behind McDonald’s at the Fort. My stomach was upset and I wanted to have hot soup. I went to Phoa, they’re closed.
And the place looked like they’ve been closed for quite sometime. My driver suggested that I just go to Burgos Circle, so Burgos Circle it was.
I didn’t have any food preference and alam ko lang masakit ang tyan ko so kailangan ko mainit na sabaw.
My eyes caught this place called Jozu Kin. I went in, no other customers except me. Three waiters opened the door. I immediately felt I made the right choice.
Jozu Kin opened in November 2010 and their chef is Elvis Domingo.
I went to the right place. I liked the relaxed and classy ambiance at Jozu Kin.
I ordered miso soup and I made bilin to make sure it’s hot. I ordered mixed fried rice and tempura moriawase. They served the miso soup within 3 minutes after I ordered it.
The tempura and fried rice came after 5 minutes.
The rice that they used is real Japanese rice grain.
The food was good and the speed it was served was even better. But the staff’s attentiveness was the best.
I didn’t know for some reason, the chef sent me a complimentary plate of Maguro Togarashi (spicy tuna). I took a bite, It was also very good except that I was by myself and couldn’t even finish the tempura, what more a plate of tuna.
Waiters Sir Emmanuel Gamboa and Ramille Ignacio
Without me asking, they gave an automatic discount from my bill. Hiyang-hiya ako, they didn’t have to do that.
Good food, good ambiance, fast service, friendly and attentive staff, reasonable price, no wonder they earned an award the first year they opened.
