April 12, 2013 thursday
Aileen and Bong had buffet breakfast at Le Chef. They bumped into Heinrich and they were entertained by his stories about so many things including hotel guests taking with them small hotel items like face towel, cutleries, etc.
He also gave tips on managing and empowering people. I will never put up a hotel without Heinrich by my side.
In the same manner, I will never go into a restaurant business without consulting Bobby Flay.
I didn’t leave my room till 12 noon.
The front desk still couldn’t find the telephone number of VOCAS so I just asked her to write down the address.
I ran to the bakeshop and bought some raisin breads.
We were about to ride our vehicle when Heinrich arrived looking so dapper. Close friend na sya nila Aileen. He’s such a nice fellow.
before finally exiting the city towards Marcos Highway, we went first to Session Road and looked for the artists’ den in La Azotea building.
Etong si Tony kung saan-saan kalye dumaan, paikot-ikot kami, para kaming lost in the jungle.
Me——– “Tony, ‘san ang punta mo?”
Tony—— “E mam puro one way”.
Look at this wires, grabe, parang babaeng sinabunutan.
eto pa, more unsightly wires. Dami sa Baguio.
Baguio cross street, parang Avenida sa dami ng establishments, at medyo hawig din sa Tondo.
The streets around Session Road are full of commercial establishments. No wonder, there are a lot of tourists who prefer to stay in hotels hear Session Road. It’s like the center.
This City Center Hotel looks decent and new.
Edmund no longer wants to go to Session Road. Sobra na rin syang puno ng sasakyan.
After several turns, we found the La Azotea Building
It looks old with dark brown grand staircase. It’s beaming with activities and every inch of space is leased out. It gave us the impression that the owner must be collecting lots of money from the rentals. This building is a gem sitting right in the middle of Session Road.
According to Katherine, the manager of Oh My Gulay restaurant, which is on the 5th floor, the building is owned by Eric de Guia or better known as Kidlat Tahimik. He is an artist/ film director and had directed the likes of Lorna Tolentino, and other known actors and actresses.
I came here looking for the artists who did the Tilaok mosaic piece. He wasn’t there but I found some indications that he could be the one who did several mosaic decors here.
Aside from looking like a gallery, the atrium or penthouse also houses a 7 year old restaurant- Oh My Gulay. It’s funny, when I was thinking of a name for my blog, I never knew that that the use of Oh My was so common. Only after a few months of Oh My Buhay that I came to discover that there were so many. With all sincerity, I never copied the name. There were times that I toyed with the idea of changing the name but people said it’s easy to remember. Kaya lang parang baduy.
I forgot to ask the waiter if oh my gulay restaurant only serve gulay. For vegetarians?
They have a Koi pond with wooden bridge. Dangerous to cross unless you’re wearing a non-skid rubber shoes.
On one side of the huge space is what looks like a wooden stage for sarzuela or conciertos.
There are several bahay kubo, each with different style and creatively using native and scrap materials.
Russian inspired bahay kubo (house)

My sister looks like she’s in a jungle.
This is a romantic spot. I doubt very much if husband would agree on coming here to eat gulay.
I was nervous going down the slippery stairs. Medyo nadulas ako but thanks goodness I didn’t fall. Aileen saw me and shouted “Ohhh, ingat”.
