Koi Palace - Oh my Buhay

October 9 Thursday

My Philippines, Inc. colleague invited me to a dimsum lunch at the Koi Palace in Daly City. He said he’s going to pick me up from the Millbrae BART Station at 11:15 am.

I left the house at 10:00 am and drove to the Hayward BART station.
Oh my, it took me a good half hour looking for a parking. I thought I would no longer be able to make it to Daly City.
The whole open area and parking building were full of cars. Dati-rati pag alanganing oras, maraming bakante especially on the topmost floor.

I got on the train at 10:40 am.
Hayward, train to Daly City

Millbrae station pala is the last stop. Since he said Koi Palace restaurant is in Daly City, when I saw that the Balboa Park station is closer to Daly City, I messaged him to come pick me up at the Balboa instead.

Balboa Bart Station

He went to Daly City station instead which is one stop after Balboa. I just told him to wait there. After a few minutes of waiting at the bus stop outside the Balboa Bart entrance, I asked for direction and the Chinese lady told me to take the bus to the Daly City station. I did, my very first time to do so here in California.

The Daly City station is the last bus stop, where my friend was waiting with his stunning one day old Jaguar XJL long base.
What a gorgeous car. SRP is $82,000 + 10% taxes and DMV fees.

Not sure if this decor is reminiscent of old Shanghai.

Dimsum lady, couldn’t understand that I wanted Taro Puff. My pronunciation was probably wrong.

I didn’t taste this gooey thingy. My friend and his business associate, Robert ate this. Robert is an American doing business in several countries including the Philippines. He’s married to a 5’8 Chinese he met in Shanghai. He told us he had an emergency gall bladder operation in Shanghai four years ago. He’s very careful not to eat fried and oily foods.
