The Mazda showroom in Pasong Tamo is facing the afternoon sun kaya it gets so glary and hot. The aircon units work full blast and still are no match to the blazing sun.
Oyen found this company named Kristal Bond.
Mahal pala ito but it seems we have to bite the bullet to make our showroom more comfortable to our customers.
The owner, Bradley came to my office and demonstrated how Kristal Bond is able to reduce the heat.
According to his demo, a thin coating of clear liquid is coated on the inside panel of the glass windows. It dries in an hour and would stay glued and become one with the glass for 10 years or more. It would not chip or peel-off from ordinary cleaning and wiping. Kristal Bond is a Japanese brand and technology. Bradley’s family got the Philippine franchise in early 2012.
I was hesitant kasi to approve this kasi nga mahal so he came to convince me.
I am convinced that Kristal Bond could reduce the inside temperature by 3 degrees, but I do not believe to what they claim a 90% heat reduction.
Summer heat is 2 months away. In a desperate attempt to make our showroom more pleasant to visitors, we are spending P240,000 hopefully to reduce heat and filter the UV rays entering our showroom.
Bradley is 31 years old and the last part of his presentation veered towards his naunsyaming love life.
Their initial quotation was P270,000 based on their people’s measurement of the area. I had it measured again to get a more or less accurate quote. I instructed Tony, who’s the brightest among our drivers to measure the glass window panels.
Tony is a college graduate and speaks good English.
Here they are, measuring the glass windows in Mazda Makati
Tony—– “alin ba dito?
Deo—— Yung maliit
Tony—– “in… inch? inch?”
Deo—— Kilo..meter!
(naku Deo ang haba naman nyan)
Guard—- Kilo!
(naku guard, isa ka pa, ang bigat naman ng isang kilo)
my gad expensive! but if its sure i-go mo na. but my money back guarantee ba miss annie? pwede yan sa sasakyan. :))
there are condos nowadays that make the heat-resistant glass their new feature, and they said that the type of glass (which for the life of me i can’t remember its name) are also used in airplanes. i wonder if it is the same technology as the kristal bond 🙂
