I’ve always been curious about La Mesa Dam. Gina Lopez had once asked our group to donate or sponsor trees for planting around the dam. A couple of times, I mentioned to my family that I wanted to go to La Mesa Dam. The place is becoming a favorite location for pre-nuptial shoots.
I went by myself on Araw ng Kagitingan, May 1. Since I was already in Payatas, it was a 5 minute drive. It was easy to find. We just went straight Commonwealth Avenue.
Access is through a middle class residential village.
Entrance to the subdivision is P50 per vehicle.
Entrance fee per area inside the park is P50 per person.
Another P50 to go to the Butterfly Haven
I love butterflies, but upon seeing the steep stairs, oops, Annie back-off.
Baka dumaus-us ako eh problema.
I’ve seen some families with kaldero, alimango, and rice cooker.
I was there at noon time. It was supposed to be very hot but the giant trees made the heat bearable and the mid-day temperature a little bit pleasant. Basta huwag kang pumunta sa may araw, presko na rin.
P50 entrance fee to gain access to the pool. Not sure if that already includes dipping into the water. I saw many foreigners having fun in the pool.
A couple of cut tree trunks serve as stools for tired tourists- like me.
You don’t have to bring baon, there are plenty of food stalls.
I tried the saging con yelo. Tikim lang.
I couldn’t even get inside Tribe Art souvenir store because it was too crowded.
Longest zip line. I really want to try that…. one of this days. Maybe in December.
I wanted to see the actual La Mesa Dam but it was some 175 steps climb and 175 back.
75 steps on a flat road, okay.
5 steps uphill, okay.
175 steps x 2 x hingal x pawis = no way.
May tubig na rin naman ito at mukhang dam. Eto na lang.
Paalis na kami when my driver said “mam, meron silang mga painting dun”. I followed him.
They sell art to help raise funds for the park’s upkeep.
Coming back, there was a big accident along Commonwealth Avenue.
A passenger bus was lying flat on its side on the other lane while facing the other direction.
I wonder how fast it was going that it ended up on the other side.
