Edmund no longer wanted to walk around with me checking out antique and souvenir shops because his lower back was painful.  He could have coffee,  and sit on a bench, and told him to just wait there while I visit a few small shops on Castle Hill.

Castle Hill, fashion model
Some souvenir shops were open today.   The items were so cute and adorable but I try not to bring home more stuff at home.  The ones I bought in 2015 were still wrapped and stuck in the drawers waiting for that one special day I would discover them.  “Ay.  meron pala ako nito!”

One thing missing in Mega Manila is the presence of art installations in public places.    I just like this kind of stuff because they beautify our surroundings.  I think the future generation would be more appreciative of art because they are more well-traveled, well-informed, and well-exposed to art and culture.

Some sectors in our society have the propensity to destroy things that are not theirs.    May ilagay kang bakal na statue,  lalagariiin nila.  Iuuwi.  Envy, misguided attitude, and poverty.   I think a long-term solution to change people’s negative attitudes toward art and culture is education.   I wish every Filipino graduates from high school at least.

Our population has ballooned to a level that our government, past and present, doesn’t seem to focus on.   Kulang ang mga classrooms. Billions of pesos are wasted on overspending in some departments but the areas where funding is most needed like decent classrooms,  are lacking.   Uso kasi sa atin ang backflow.  Merong commissions yung ibang mga opisyals kaya konti na lang ang budget for the actual projects. If only,  we have matitinong officials, elected, appointed, hired, sana matino rin ang bansa natin.   We will see long-term progress not only for a few but for many.

I still remember this quaint store.  I had been here in 2015.    According to the old lady manning the store, this store has been in existence for more than 60 years.   Oh please come and buy something from them.  I want them to be here still for another 50 years.

I have a soft spot for little stores that opened way before I was born.    They are usually founded by grandparents or great-grandparents.  I just love family business history.   Sometimes I even chance upon the grandparents who are still there caring for their store.  I get mixed emotions for some reason.  They are strangers but for some reason,  I care about their business,  I wish them continuity and prosperity.  I know how it feels, itinayo nila ang kanilang munting negosyo, and cherished them.

Hungarian Forint 3,500 is equivalent to US$8.89 more or less.

We were waiting for a taxi when we noticed at least 10 professional photographers training their cameras on this fashion model.   At first, I thought it was a wedding prenup but there was no groom.

She lifted her skirt a few times so she could walk better, never mind if her underpants could be seen.

As nice as a butterfly.

The fashion model was very tall and gorgeous.

We found a taxi that brought us back to our hotel.
We went out again to do last minute pasyal because we leave Hungary tomorrow.

last day in Budapest
One of the main things I enjoy most when I am in Europe is walking.  I love piazzas, old town squares, where I can freely walk around even at night feeling secure and safe.   Instead of big shopping malls,  I prefer stores along the streets and in pedestrian areas.  I enjoy both the outdoor feel and the shopping.

They also have chimney cake in Prague.

Chimney cake
Yuck, I chose the wrong flavor.  Yan na nga ba eh, kung bakit iniba ko pa, eh vanilla lang naman talaga ang preference ko.

Budapest is the messier sister of Vienna.

Time to go back to the hotel, eat dinner, and pack.
