Even at 3 pm, traffic along EDSA to Shangrila mall took a good hour. I went to Rustan’s to look for a smart casual dress. True that I just came back from abroad, however I didn’t find a suitable dress. The materials sold in dress stores were manipis parang tissue papers, -or winter clothes, or for thin women. I found a cotton dress and with my Rustan’s discount card, I was able to get a 10% cash discount. When I got home, I realized I forgot to use the 2,000 pesos gift certificate I got as insurance rebate. I was so hungry so I decided tongrab some food at the small restaurant on the second floor of the department store.
Mushroom dumplings
chicken karaage
The restaurant is small and it can’t be helped that I would hear other diner’s conversations. There’s a driver-bodyguard sitting near the entrance by himself and staring at me. His jewelries were glistening. His male boss was seated at the adjacent table with a beautiful young lady. He gave her a big watch and a red envelope. He said bagay naman sa’yo kasi matangkad ka naman. The girl is really tall. I saw her earlier inside the restroom and she has kilometric long legs. She was wearing shorts kaya alam ko.
The girl said she didn’t know how to change the time. the guy told her pumunta ka sa Lucerne, magpaturo ka. sabihun mo binili mo sa Paris.
The guy also said “dadami ang relo mo. Bibigyan kita ng Patek, pang dress watch. Kailangan mo ng manipis pag may party”. “Anong kulay ba ng uniform nyo? Brown?”
He made a phone call, asking the other party ‘ikuha mo ako ng box, yun malaki-laki na, yung pwede rin sa Rolex nya…. kahit hindi isinusuot…nag-wa-wind”. The guy also told the person on the other line.. “okay na, pwede mo ng i-invoice, nagustuhan naman nya”. I think he was referring to the big sporty watch he handed over to the girl. He also instructed the guy to get him a Patek or a Chopard. “di ba mura lang naman yung Chopard? 300, 400. 500? Meron din isang milyon?
i wasn’t sure if the guy was a dealer or trader of watches and the girl was his regukar client.
