October 19 Saturday
We came to London with two luggage plus my white carry on. We compressed what was supposed to be for 3 pcs of luggage into two, that’s why both our luggage have NO extra room for shopping or for souvenir items.
I was able to contact LBC. I dialed their London number. A male Filipino answered.
I asked for the exact address of their London drop-off place. When we come back on Oct 26, we would only stay for less than 24 hours so I wanted to make sure that we’re able to ship a box. We are still going to 3 cities from London and it would be very hard to drag-on heavy suitcases while taking the train. Kawawa naman si Edmund.
The guy gave me the address: Victoria Rd., North Acton (sometimes he would say Action). I asked for a landmark “How far are you from Trafalgar Square?” He didn’t know. Hindi pa daw sya sanay sa London. O okay. Inisip ko siguro naman alam na nya kung saan ang Buckingham Palace. “Okay, so how near or far are you from Buckingham Palace”. Parang ngayon lang nya narinig yung Buckingham Palace. Yun pala call center pala yun, nasa Philippine Islands.
I was hoping to get the telephone number of their office in London for easier coordination but wala palang telepono. Bawal daw ibigay. The call would still be received and handled in Manila.
I was able to contact pinoybox delivery.com. This is the one recommended by one of Ohmybuhay readers. Their office is in Ortigas center in Pasig. The London rep named Allan responded thru my email. He said, they could drop-off an empty box at our hotel in London, and when we leave, I could just leave the box with the payment taped on an envelope on the box. They would pick up our box and deliver door to door to our place in Manila in 6 weeks. That sounds great. I hope they are reliable.
