Let there be cure - Oh My Buhay

I went back to the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) last Tuesday, July 8. This time I brought along extra people to assist me. The last time kasi I was only with my driver.

The security guard at the building entrance told me to come back at 5 pm kasi daw tapos na ang oras ng dalaw. When I mentioned the word DONOR, he let me in.

There were several of us including the nurses, Elma and Zaldi. We gave away 150 food packs in Ward One, all female patients, and in Ward Three, where all male patients are placed.

Patients who looked so frail and helpless, all of a sudden would sit up straight to get a Jollibee. Even for a second, they forgot their misery.

Her tummy has gotten bigger. I think she has a tumor and leukemia.

All of them were wondering why I was giving away  free food.  They presumed it’s my birthday kaya I received so many “Happy Birthday Mam”.

She smiled when I gave her the Jollibee.

She’s 29 and has leukemia.

She burst into laughter when I told her something which I no longer recall.

Her husband told me what’s wrong with her but I totally forgot. Her body’s full of blood clots and she has some open wounds.

She had mix emotions, iiyak ba o matutuwa.

It only cost me so little but the impact on someone poor and sick is big.   I wish I have a magic wand instead.   Wikidoo Jollido, Let there be cure.  Wahlaaa, magaling na sila.  Magic.

It was a good day, better than the last time when 3 female patients passed away while I was there. This time, not one died and the patients looked a little happier.  the only downside,  nung tapos na kami at saka ko napansin,  naka bukas pala zipper ko.  I wonder if any one had noticed.
