Let's go to Bacolod - Oh My Buhay

February 20, 2019, Wednesday

After our visit to Iloilo last year for Edmund’s high school reunion, the two of us agreed to do Bacolod next. I told him we should start going local— visiting the major provinces we’ve not been to. He suggested that I time my visit when my brother is in Bacolod.

We actually have a full schedule for February and more so for the next few months. If we’re not going to give it time then we will never be able to visit Bacolod, always thinking, ay busy tayo.

We looked at our respective calendars and agreed to do it this month. isiningit talaga namin sa schedule kasi my brother and my sister in law would be in Bacolod during the days we marked.

Oyen went to the PAL ticketing office and got us two round trip tickets. I haven’t bought domestic tickets in a long time so the ticket prices in my mind were “mura lang pag domestic” kasi when I looked at the advertisements PAL published, tila 999/person. Oyen was also shocked that Bacolod tickets cost P11,000+/person. Hindi daw kasi kasama sa sale pag business class.

Here we go..

I looked at the lady manning the security cameras and her eyes were closed but she was facing the monitors. I wanted to make sure that I was really seeing what I was seeing. Parang nakapikit ang mata nya. I walked closer to her but syempre hindi pwede, mukha talaga syang nakapikit. Baka natyempo lang na she was resting her eyes. Pero hindi pwede, while on duty, no blinking dapat. My husband was calling me.
I told him tila nakapikit yung babae. He said hayaan mo na.

When I went back after checking in my luggage, there was a different person on duty, a male one and his eyes were open. I told the woman, ay mabuti naman iba na ang shift kasi kanina parang nakapikit yung babae.

When we reached the check-in counter, the PAL crew was friendly. I asked her to make sure they credited my PALsmiles. I wasn’t smiling.
My husband said how come I was in a bad mood. “Ang init ng ulo mo.”

When we went thru the next security x-ray, the officers saw my nipper and asked me to leave it behind. I didn’t want to so I went back to the check-in counter and checked in my white carry on luggage.

I had a few clothes, sneakers, slippers, and toiletries. Oh and my red and white striped handbag which was a mistake because till after we left Bacolod, I didn’t use it even once.
Bye for now luggage, see you in Bacolod.

Our flight was at 12 noon, we had 1.5 hours to rest at the lounge.

After washing my hands, I really didn’t want to touch the door knob otherwise useless washing my hands.

When I shook the pepper shaker, bumuhos yung paminta. Ang laki naman kasi ng mga butas nung container nila. Hindi pang ground pepper, pang chili pepper.

I waited for ten minutes till the PAL kitchen refilled the arroz caldo pot. Bagong luto..

For our 12 noon flight, we boarded at 12:30 pm.

We stayed for another hour inside the plane while waiting for clearance to take off. An hour and a half late because of airport traffic. See those jumbo jets waiting? Na-traffic na kami sa EDSA, na-traffic pa kami sa runway.

Hello, magkadto na kami sa Bacolod. Did I get that right?
