For the very first time in the history of mankind, my husband asked me if I want to go with him to Baguio for a few days while he competes in the annual Fil-Am Golf Tournament. He gave two conditions though, to find things to do on my own because he would be busy playing golf, and not to go to the golf courses because I could get hit by stray golf balls.
Of course I said yes.
After a few days I realized that I would be away for 5 full days. I was hesitant to leave my son because when I am away he stays up late, so late. I was also worried that he might forget to apply cream on his sides and back which could aggravate his atopic dermatitis.
I spoke to my son, made a lot of bilins, and I also requested my daughter to take care of her brother.
So off I went to Baguio with Edmund. I just made the mistake of choosing a driver that has never driven to BAguio. Oh that’s great.
Instead of dosing-off and resting during the road trip, Edmund and I were busy pressing our right feet on the back of the seats and stretching our necks to watch his speed and driving.
Instead of leisurely driving, it became an anxious 6 hours journey.
It also didn’t help that we were able to leave our house at 1:41 pm instead of the original plan of 9 am. Kaya by the time we reached the zigzag portions of Marcos Highway, it was already dark.
In retrospect, it was a generally good trip.
There was no traffic, we also ate 2-piece chicken joy with rice in Jollibee, Carmen Rosales in Pangasinan.
