I would like to encourage you to plant vegetables. If you have a small lot, even a tiny plot of soil, or even empty cans, you can plant vegetables for your family’s daily consumption. Kahit sa paso pwede.
I bought okra and sili seeds from the grocery and had them planted in pots. After less than three weeks, eto na sila:
Antonia was the one who planted this. She is so proud that she has a green thumb. She told me this is not sili. It’s bilpiper.
The watery pot has the okra seedlings, planted by Sgt. Pepper.
Meron kang green thumb”.
Natutuwa ako every time I bring home some vegetables and fruits from the farm. Actually it’s not really a farm, but we have fruit bearing trees like langka, avocado, guyabano and bananas.
Me———“Wow, para kang may tindahan. Magkano isang kilo?”
Antonia—–“Kwarentay singko isang kilo, dalawang kilo nubenta”.
Edmund is fond of saving seeds from fresh fruits.
E—–“Antonia, yung mga buto itago ha”.
Last year he collected some papaya seeds and had them planted on the ground after they have grown by 12 inches at least.
Eto na kaya we harvest papaya almost weekly.
This is the biggest papaya we’ve ever harvested.
