LGBT Pride Parade - Oh My Buhay

June 16, 2018

While Yen and I were eating ice cream, Edmund walked past the hotel and saw a colorful parade. He said there were lots of rainbow. From where we were seated, I saw hundreds walking and chanting, and seemed like a fun parade.
I left Yen and Edmund at the ice cream store and ran to the next corner.
“I want to watch”.

I didn’t know what it was about in the beginning. It looked like they were protesting about something, like equal pay, work discrimination. Those are not LGBT issues alone, these are human issues. Regardless of gender preference, pay and discrimination are global concerns.

My daughter told me that the month of June is LGBT Pride Month and many parades and celebrations are being held all over Europe where there’s a strong LGBT community.

The rainbow flag is the symbol of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender pride and social movements.
Rainbow Brite was my daughter’s favorite cartoon character when she was in grade school.

There were thousands who joined the parade including families, relatives, friends and supporters of the LGBT community.
There were two guys who laid down on the street and started a pumping scene. They were having too much fun. Buti hindi sumakit ang likod eh ang init ng semento at ang tigas pa. .
