Life in June 2022 - Oh My Buhay

June 10, 7:26 pm
With hundreds of restaurants and fast food to choose from within 10 kilometers radius, we still find ourselves going back to the same place again and again. Laziness it is. We are too lazy to venture out someplace away from our comfort zone. Traffic it is. The farther away the more time is wasted traveling. Comfort. We want familiarity. We are comfortable dining at places we know have good food and service.

I am going to donate these assorted medicines to the penitentiary plus I will procure some more medicines for general ailments such as Biogesic and Decolgen.  The jail nurse mentioned that there are inmates who are sick and who don’t have family members who show up even once.   Some are sick of tuberculosis, and other ailments.  Donations of medicines are most welcome according to John, the jail nurse.

Sinisipag lang ako ng konti to do random audit of Cainta’s service invoices.

I swung by Towne’s Upholstery in Pasay Road to look for fabric for our dining chairs.  They have beautiful fabrics but I wasn’t sure if they would match the drapes.

From Townes’ I proceeded to Shell Canvass in EDSA Cubao.

Ang hirap maghanap. At saka I was beginning to have a headache because the air was stale, they turned off the aircon. I think I like this one but I’ll just come back tomorrow. Nahihilo na ako.

While Oyen works at home, these dogs are relaxing beside her in total abandon.

I went back to Shell Canvass to look again. It’s really difficult to choose and when I am attracted to something, they don’t have a stock naman.

I really like this gray and bluish sage combination, sayang no stock.

The upholsterer wanted me to buy 20 yards. Ano? That’s too much. Sobra naman ang pasobra nya. Depending on the chair’s style, our particular chair needs 1.5 yards only with am 54″ width. Kung titipirin nung upholsterer, pwede 1.25 yards. So 15 yards for my 10 chairs are already more than sufficient. I bought two yards extra for the table cover. Minsan etong mga naggagawa ng kurtina and upholsterer sobrang makapagpasobra ng tela. Kung puputul-putulin nila ng wala sa ayos, kukulangin talaga. It’s important that we, the customers, know and understand how this simple thing works. Some are dishonest but they don’t know that. Their minds are just programmed to overcharge. They don’t think that cheating means telling your client that her 3 ft x 2 ft toilet window needs 25 yards of fabric. Twenty five yards at 54″ width can make you 4 beautiful wedding gowns.
Eto na lang, pagod na akong pumili. It looks too goldie. Although it’s for our dining chairs in the kitchen cum family dining room, that’s where we entertain so I want the fabric to be a little formal. Never mind na kung pangit I will just replace it after 10 years😩😩 Kuripot? Hindee, sayang kasi and it’s not cheap to repair, refinish, or reupholster. Grabe ngayon ang mga presyo. Nagugulat ako, parang same cost as when I had this dining set custom-made 15 years ago.

We have a dwindling vehicle inventory due to the global computer chips problem. Customers are waiting. We’re thankful they are willing to wait for the Ford Ranger, Ford Territory, and the new Ford Everest.
We thank our customers who bring their vehicles to us for repairs and maintenance. We thank our technicians too for diligently doing their jobs.

From Makati Ford in Pasong Tamo I went to Tagaytay.
I bought 20 pieces of coconut along the Tagaytay – Santa Rosa Road for Oyen because she likes fresh buko juice with no added sugar and water. I do too. My children got that from me. Maliit pa lang sila, pina painom ko na ng buko juice. Kumakain kami ng fresh buko sa tabing kalye in Laguna, Cavite and Batangas.

It’s only now that we are able to bring home freshly picked kalamansi. For many years, our former caretaker always said “walang bunga” eh eto oh, ang dami. Siguro kinakahilada (lemonade juice) nila.

We planted a few avocado trees more than 5 years ago and it’s only now that we are reaping some fruits. Thank you nature.

Ano ba yan?  Nagbirthday lang ako nung May 27,  the following day I noticed that my wrinkles had multiplied.  Parang switch ng ilaw.  O, birthday mo uli, sisentahin ka na,  soon to be lola, matanda ka na, dapat dagdagan na yang pileges mo sa mukha.

Ka-cute-cute nitong mga sisiw.

Etong mga roosters, sobrang ma-e-L,  laging  hinahabol yung mga hens.  I feel sorry for the hens, they are under constant threat of sexual abuse.  I founded humanidad kontra abuso but I am tolerating these roosters abuse our chickens.  Sa bagay they are not humans.

Andrew has grown but he is thin from lack of loving care.  I feel guilty that he is left under the care of people not giving him the love he deserves.  We have found a new vet who doesn’t mind visiting our farm every time we request.  His visitation fee is P 1,60o plus whatever extra  I ask him to do like giving them vitamins, checking on them, etc.   Beginning this coming July I will require him to come every two weeks.

When Andrew gives me this look I feel like hugging him
