October 19 Saturday
We still have a few minutes to spare before we go to Kings Cross train station.
We walked towards the Thames River. It’s only two short blocks away from our hotel.
We could see the London Eye from afar. There were several tourist buses that offloaded passengers to walk to the other side of the Westminster bridge to get to the giant Ferris wheel. It would be quite a walk.
The London Eye, the tallest Ferris wheel in Europe, becomes center stage during New Years Eve celebrations. You’ll see how spectacular their fireworks display are on CNN and BBC coverage.
It was built in 1998 and opened to the public in 2000.
During President Fidel V. Ramos’s working visit to London, we were brought to a tower where we were shown the scale model of the new developments in London including the London Eye. There was an engineer explaining to us how it was made and all those technical descriptions.

We asked another tourist to take our picture. Galing nya, nawala sa background si London Eye.
Ride the short River Thames cruise at night, it would be magical.
