It was my fault. I just walked into a store selling made in India and Nepal clothes and I didn’t look carefully at the price tag. I got so excited upon seeing a blue and white cotton dress. I looked at the price tag and based on my calculation, it was equivalent to around P2,500 – P3,000 which was reasonable as compared to prices in British India.
I also saw a blue cashmere cardigan. Very simple and light. That was the last piece according to the sales lady. I grabbed it and charged it to our “family credit card”. When the cashier asked for my signature, I asked why the amount was so high. The cashmere! We were leaving and only had a few minutes to shop. “Sige na nga”.
The other day, the credit card bill arrived. My daughter ran through my purchases.
I better wear this every day for the next seven months as per my daughter’s order. I’ve learned my lesson. Next time, I will not grab and shop. I will look, check, compute, convert.
