Louis Vuitton replaced my bag

In 2017 I bought a handbag from the only Louis Vuitton boutique in Budapest. I rarely used it. One time I noticed some black sticky thingy on the glass shelves inside my cabinet. I didn’t know where it was from. Then after a few weeks I noticed that the same gluey substance was on the lining of the LV bag, and on my dress.

I discovered it was coming from the bag’s long strap. The glue was melting and the strap’s leather was disintegrating.

I placed the strap in plastic to prevent it from sticking to my clothes and other bags. Last summer, I brought the strap to the big Louis Vuitton global store inside Aria shopping mall. The manager looked for the bag. I left it in the Philippines because my goal was to have the strap replaced and not the bag. She said they couldn’t replace just the strap, I have to bring in the whole bag. They would have to send the bag with the strap together to LV’s headquarters in Paris.

So this December, I brought the bag too and the strap to Aria. I also showed them the receipt from Budapest.

They told me I have to get a new bag. Since they don’t carry the same model that I have, I can choose whatever bag I want from their store. Any price difference, of course, I will have to pay for. Or they can give me a store credit. I opted to finish the transaction and just choose a bag as a replacement. They computed the US dollar equivalent of how much I paid for the bag in Hungary, US$2,570. I think I paid a little bit more than that because of the currency difference. But it was perfectly fine. I wasn’t expecting they would replace my bag with a brand new one. I thought they would just replace the strap. Getting a new bag was totally unexpected.
My family wanted me to get the store credit and just come back some other time to choose a bag because they said I looked bad. I wasn’t feeling well and my eyes were red and I looked sick. I didn’t want to. I wanted to get it done and over with. When my kids told Edmund that mommy looked sick, Edmund told them I would feel better when I get a new bag.

The LV store in Aria is one of LV’s biggest stores. All three floors. I went up and down and I couldn’t find anything that would exactly match my $2,570. Merong below $2,000 merong $3,000 and up. I didn’t want to add too much. I just wanted something to replace my bag with. I went up and down the three floors and I couldn’t decide which one. My husband patiently waited for me. As long as he has wifi then he’s good.

I don’t like buying clutches or bags for formal wear, kasi bihira lang magagamit, lulutong sa loob ng aparador eh kamahal-mahal.

After an hour I still couldn’t decide which one then I spotted this bag high above on a top shelf meron pang taklob na glass case. Love love love, ang cute and it looks so elegant. Eto na lang.

A—-“Oh that’s why it’s up there so no one can touch it. Thank you I can’t afford it.”

I almost chose this kasi it has a zipper, hindi tatapon mga gamit ko and pwedeng pang everyday office. And the price is $2,500 more or less.

I let my kids choose. They chose a pink one. I added $300 because this was $2,870+ and Oyen bought a perfume for $250 plus sales taxes.

This was the bag they replaced. I started using it frequently beginning in July last year after I was told that I had to return this together with the strap. Sayang bihira ko lang nagamit kaya pinaggagamit ko na, naluma agad.
