Diamond Residences and Inagiku - Oh My Buhay

Diamond Residences and Inagiku

(Delayed post Feb 15, 2017)

I picked up my sister in law, Eleanor Montelibano – Tan, from their hotel, Makati Diamond Residences, located at 118 Legazpi Street in front of Greenbelt 5 in Makati.
It’s nice pala here. According to their literature, this is a 5 star hotel and serviced apartments or suites for long staying guests.

We took the elevator but I couldn’t press the floor number because I didn’t have a core key. We got off on the second floor while waiting for Dimple to come down and get us.

I suspected that she was probably not ready so I went up to their room and I brought along extra hands.
I was right. She was still packing. And, she didn’t have a packing tape. I was really glad I had a companion. I gave him a hundred to buy a mahalay tape.

The room has a nice view.

She gave me the bouquet of flowers my brother gave her the night before. She couldn’t bring them with her. She was traveling to the US that evening.

From the hotel, we went to Inagiku for lunch on the second floor of Shangrila in Makati. At first I was planning to bring her to the buffet but she was having a bad tummy from drinking water. Yang mga balikbayan, hindi na sila sanay sa tubig natin dito kaya dapat filtered water lagi.

We both ordered the same thing, Teppan Seafood Gozen.

I was so inis with the waiter, I almost elevated my case to the Supreme Court. He gave me a glass of water. When Dimple asked him if it’s filtered, he answered no. I was so pissed. Why would a 5 star hotel serve tap water to its customers? Gusto nila bang mademanda kug magsuka yung mga foreigners?
He asked if we wanted to order bottled water. So I asked bakit hindi ba filtered ang tubig ninyo> Hindi daw. Ano sa gripo? I argued that even in carinderia nga they serve filtered water. Tapos dito sa Shangrila eh galing sa gripo? I didn’t know if they were instructed to encourage diners to order bottled water which probably would cost around P200 bucks. I was about to call the restaurant manager to complain why they serve unfiltered water. I kept on interrogating the waiter, why o why they would do that, inamin din nya na filtered water yun. Hampasin ko kaya sya? Kunsumisyon itong waiter na iyun. I purposely didn’t get his name kasi kawawa naman kung idemanda ko sya for making me inis and adding guhit on my forehead.

Here comes our order. The servings are just right for picky eaters and those on diet. Not too konti, not too much. But for men and hungry women, this would be bitin.

The waiters here lack training in photography. Sobrang taas ng camera, halos nakatirik na mata ko. Di ba dapat eye level?
