Lunch in Angelfields March 5

We had lugaw at home for breakfast.

Then we headed for Tagaytay, but stopped in Silang, Cavite, for lunch at the restaurant in Angelfields. I wanted to show Edmund the place.

Powder coated aluminum frames are more suited in places prone to termites infestation. I like their floor to ceiling glass panels, we could see their sprawling garden from the inside.

It’s relaxing to eat here.  Very quiet.

There were three women inside the restaurant when we arrived. Then they went out to the lanai. We saw them talking with some male caretakers. We also saw two big dogs. The waiter told us the dogs are owned by Bernie Concepcion, the owner of Angelfields. We thought the women owned the dogs. Then the three ladies went back to the restaurant, tagging along one big dog. Edmund and I stopped our conversation and just looked at them.   We were both annoyed.  The woman had difficulty controlling the leash. I was just thinking, what was she wanted to do? Eat with the dog beside her? But our table is beside them. I don’t want to eat lunch with a big dog around me. The dog went under our table. I moved my legs away from the dog. Edmund and I were poker faced, just observing what on earth was happening. I wasn’t looking at my husband,  I was looking at the woman and the dog.  My game plan was to either storm out of the restaurant or tell them straight to PLEASE leave your dog outside.
Naamoy ko rin yung aso. Even if it’s well-cared for, it still has dog smell. We love dogs, we have a lot of dogs. BUT we don’t bring the big ones in at the dining area.

The women noticed our faces, we must have been frowning. They got the point.  They decided to dine outside, with the dog. My husband said the waiter told them to bring the dog out.  Mainam naman.

Although it was noon time, we were not hungry yet because the lugaw was still there in our tummies. We just had salad and shared a main course. Salad with danggit chips salad with danggit chips

We went to the main building where the pond is. Edmund finds their pond modern looking. He said it’s more of a swimming pool style. He likes more natural looking. ECY in Angelfields March 5, 2016

The contractor of Angelfields is a friend of Edmund, Egay Pasion, dad of Pong, his inaanak sa kasal. Egay told him all the hardwood used here are old and repurposed. Old wood are a lot more expensive. One small piece could cost thousands depending on the size, variety, age.

Millions of pieces of natural river stones were used in the complex, very thick fence, thick walls, etc. That alone cost dozens of millions of pesos. Clearly, money is no object to the owner. The contractor said the whole project is already costing close to a B. That does not include the land acquisition which was not that much considering that he purchased the land long time ago.

Almost a billion? Oh wow. I didn’t see major structures that should cost him that much. I would say the whole project must be running P200M let’s double the figure for other structures in the complex that I failed to estimate. But I cannot believe that the whole cost should reach a B.

  1. Hi ms.annie. You can use pvc windows with wood stain coating. That way, you get the wood look but avoid the anay factor. Also, if there are really termites in your property or around it, i suggest you get the sentricon pest control. It is a bit pricey but worth it in the long run for protection.

  2. Hi Cecile, I’ve seen a showroom inside Home Depot with something like that. They’re nice and look durable, but very expensive, P7,500 ++ per square meter.
