I met Zaldy at the Pacquiao fight in Thomas & Mack. He was seated to my left. While I cheered and screamed he just sat there quietly and occasionally commenting but he never screamed nor jeered. He was accompanying a group of councilors from Quezon City and one of them is a good customer of Ford EDSA.
Zaldy used to live in Pinole but sold his house there and moved to Las Vegas. He is a licensed house renovation contractor. I asked him if he has Filipino clients. He recently got so upset with a kababayan couple who didn’t pay him in full after he finished renovating their whole kitchen. Hmm.
He sent his daughter to college in UST but one day her mom wasn’t able to pick her up so she hailed a cab. She was held up. When Zaldy found out about what happened to her daughter, he booted her out of UST, out of Manila and back to North America.
I went to their custom house in the eastern side of Vegas
The house sits on an elevated area of Vegas that’s why they have a strip view from their backyard and a canyon view from the front.
According to Zaldy, Arnold Schwarzenneger used to have a house up on that mountain.
Zaldy is fond of antiques. This Buddah table welcomes guests.
Zaldy and kids enjoy the luxury of having home cooked meals everyday courtesy of his 80 year old loving mom.
She told me to come back because she wants me to taste her delicious pansit guisado. She operated a canteen way back in the Philippines that’s why her cooking skills are tops.
