The employment agency insisted to bring a new housemaid na kesyo masipag daw, datihan na, etc.. I told her to come instead on Saturday morning (tomorrow) as I was always out of the house. I told her I have to see her, interview her first. If she would drop her off, when I am not around, eh what if I don’t like her.
She insisted kung pwede agad na daw, sige I gave her a pass and called the guards to let her in.
When I came home last night (7 pm), the new maid was standing at our household helpers lounge. I think she was watching tv but when I came, she switched it off and stood up and pretended to be wiping the kitchen counter.
I said “Hi, good evening, anong pangalan mo?”
Maid——– “Lyssa”.
Me———- “Ilang taon ka na?
Halika, lumapit ka, hindi kita makita.”
Lyssa——- “22”.
Me———- “May asawa ka na? Ilan anak mo”.
Lyssa——- “Dalawa, nasa Bicol”.
She’s very pretty with fair skin.
I came from a two hour drive and was really exhausted with a slight migraine.
This morning, while Edmund and I were having breakfast, he told me he heard someone talking, medyo malakas daw boses, at ang tagal sa phone. He couldn’t see anyone from the kitchen so he went to the garage to look where the voice was coming from. Eto na, he saw Lyssa speaking to someone on her cellphone, nadun sa gilid ng bahay namin, naka tago dun.
Lyssa to someone—
“Hindi naman sinabi nung agency na ang laki pala ng bahay”.
“Wala pa akong pera”.
“Mahirap makalabas dito merong mga gwardya sa gate”.
Edmund told me she’s no good. Useless daw to employ her. We agreed to return her to the agency.
After Edmund had left, I called Lyssa.
Omb———- “Narinig ka ng husband ko nasa telepono”.
Lyssa——– “Kausap ko mama ko”.
Lyssa——– “Iglesia ako, dapat dalawang beses ako isang linggo lalabas”.
Ano ba yan, consom, konsomesyon to the nth degree.
Hindi ko rin natiis ha. I even let her sit on my spot and dropped her off at the village gate. I even asked her if she has pamasahe contrary to the agency’s instruction not to give her money.
She stayed in our house for sixteen hours. Watched tv, ate, charged her cellphone, slept, took a nice shower, had breakfast, charged her cellphone again, chat and text. We didn’t get to ask her to sweep the floor or do anything yet. I hope she enjoyed her staycation.
