Edmund is totally convinced that the Ilocanos would support Bongbong Marcos. He said there’s such a thing as Ilocano vote. I was arguing with him that people no longer vote as one. He said malalaman natin pag punta natin sa Baguio kasi mga Ilocano dun kaya Marcos pa rin.
To prove or disprove his theory, I did a survey tonight. I asked 50 people, golfers, hotel employees, drivers, local tourists (not from Ilocos) and waiters. I wanted to complete 100 pero napagod na ako.
Total number of voters who participated = 50
Location = Baguio City
This group is solid for Miriam and Bongbong Marcos. There are seven of them, yung dalawa nagtago sa likod. They are from Laguna, Cavite, not from Ilocos.
Vincent is from Pangasinan while Rowell is from Nueva Ecija.
Almost everyone working in this restaurant is for Miriam and Marcos.
Here are the results:
For president:
1. Miriam Defensor —- 28
2. Duterte ———— 7
3. Mar Roxas ———- 4
4. Binay ————– 3
5. Poe —————- 3
Undecided ————– 5
For vice president:
1. Bongbong Marcos —– 30
2. Leni Robredo ——– 6
3. Chiz Escudero ——- 5
4. Cayetano ———— 2
5. Honasan ————- 1
Undecided ————— 6
Filipino-Australian Raul “Yul” Lotho from Melbourne. He’s not included in my tally although I asked for his choice of candidates too, just for fun. He wants to marry a Filipina, aha, perfect, I will introduce him to my 32 year old friend Paula. I showed him Paula’s photo and he instantly liked her. Uy, maganda!
Notes:
1. Duterte lost two votes because “bad” daw si Duterte after he cursed Pope Francis. Ayaw na daw nila kasi parang goon. The votes went to Miriam.
2. One local tourist from Alabang hesitantly chose Poe, “kasama pa ba ito?”
3. Allan Cayetano’s two votes came from a couple who chose Miriam for president. They didn’t compare notes but they chose the same candidates kaya I teased them, that their hearts feel as one. They are from Manila, baka tiga Taguig. Maybe there’s a Taguig vote.
3. I excluded two votes– one vote for a certain Miriam Concepcion for President.
4. I excluded the vote for Duterte as Vice president.
So, if the above survey is of any indication, my husband maybe correct. Dito sa Ilocos, Marcos pa rin.
Round two of survey coming soon.
Miss Annie, I admire your passion in doing this. Nakakatuwa how you go out of your way to get the pulse of the people you get to meet every day.
Next time or one time Annie make a survey on your native town of Binangonan, Riza.
I really intend to.
