January 17, Thursday
Nyke and I went around the United States (on Google) trying to decide where we would have a mother-son bonding for the long Martin Luther King weekend.
I didn’t want to go to New York because it was snowing. After some deliberations, our choice was unanimous. Back to Vegas to watch shows.
The cost of airline tickets doubled to any destination because of the holiday. It was more expensive than buying PAL tickets to Manila on discounted economy promo fares.
This would be his only free days so we just went ahead otherwise his next free time would be in May for the Memorial Day weekend.
Good his classes were cancelled on Jan 18 so the two of us booked our respective flights to Las Vegas.
We just met at the airport. Edmund trained him to carry mommy’s luggage.
We took Uber to pick-up the rental car.
I wished we could stay for a week para sulit naman airline tickets namin but he has an early morning class exam on Tuesday kaya hindi pwede.
He rented a car for our convenience and mobility. He took photos of the dashboard, the odometer, the fuel gauge, the trunk, the body. Whew, ang hirap to borrow other people’s car because if there’s a scratch that we didn’t notice, they might think we were the ones who caused it. My luggage scratched the inner lining of the trunk. My son said it was okay.
One thing Edmund and I like about Las Vegas is the streets are well-lit. Even the freeways have lamp posts on both sides and in the center island.
Late night meal of favourite ramen
I spilt half of my noodles on my lap and on the floor.
We were both so tired. Flights were delayed by an hour and every seat was occupied. I paid extra $ for a premium seat but still it was masikip.
We both agreed that we would take our mornings easy. Relax lang.
