Martin Nievera and art

When I paid for our Martin Nievera tickets at the village admin office a few days before the event, I asked the staff how many songs would Martin sing? Baka kako tatlong kanta lang eh bitin. She said what’s written in the contract is six to seven songs. The “to seven” I would suppose is for the encore. For P550,000 that would mean roughly P78,571.42 per song. Maybe the whole amount includes light and sound, etc. Baka package na yun. Talent fees are usually bloated because a big percentage goes to the talent managers.

A———-“Naku ang mahal pala”.
Staff——“Mam, si Sarah Geronimo nga isang milyon, kasi daw peak season ngayon”.
A———-“Wow”. Dati kinuha namin sya P60,000 lang”.
Staff——“Kailan mam yun? Baka hindi pa sya sikat?”
A———-“Bago pa lang sumisikat”.
Staff——“Holidays kasi mam, kaya mahal”.
A———-“Dapat pala pag tag bagyo na lang magparty. Baka half the price. Intayin na lang natin mag turn 65 si Sarah at saka natin imbitahin, baka sya pa ang magprisinta na kumanta. Maka save tayo”.

We could not have picked a better entertainer than Martin. The residents loved him. He’s funny without any need for jokes. He’s very natural and his voice. Ooohh his voice is extraordinary. The tone and timber, buong-buo. Six to seven songs were kulang.

Martin knew how to perk up the crowd. The women adored him. Even my daughter liked him. He stayed near the tables and mingled with the crowd and not on the stage. Unfortunately, he didn’t reach our table. An old woman at the table next to ours was waving at Martin, she said “here, here, mas magaganda ang babae dito”. She was so funny.

Martin pala has a twin sister?

So many nice prizes were given away including four Iphone 6 and one Iphone 6 plus. We didn’t win a thing.

On one side of the clubhouse, there’s an art exhibit set up just for the party. Part of the proceeds would be donated to the Bantay Bata Foundation of ABS CBN.
Oyen———–“Mom, there’s an art exhibit, they have paintings…”
OMB————“I’ll look later”.
OMB————“Hi, sino ang artist?”
Guy————-“Caress Banson, dito sya nakatira mam, sa #__ _______ St.”
OMB————- “Magkano ito?”
Guy————- “Per square feet mam ang presyo”.
OMB————- “Magkano itong size na ito?”
Guy————- “Marami pa kami nyan sa bahay nila, punta kayo mam”.
OMB————- “Magkano nga ito?”
Guy————- “Per size mam”.
(Sasakit naman sikmura ko dito, sasabihin lang kung magkano eh. Hmmm I know, siguro mahal kaya ayaw sabihin”.
OMB————- “yang size na yan o magkano? Wala ka bang listahan dyan? Nilagay nyo dito hindi mo alam kung magkano?”
Guy————- “Yan mam, yang size na yan pareho nung kinuha ng Ayala Museum, three hundred fifty thousand”.
OMB————- “Oh”.

(O ano ka ngayon OMB, lakas ng loob mo, tatanung-tanong ka tapos nung sinabi presyo, tameme ka. Wala ka naman palang pambili. Tsupiii!!!).

I was so embarrassed when I got home, I found a table napkin in my bag. Naku baka akala dinekwat ko. I will wash it first tapos isosoli ko.
