1. My relatives would start arriving one by one beginning on may 24 in time for our reunion. We’re all excited to see each other and this would be our first out of town reunion. My son arrived at the McCarran International Airport in the morning but we could not pick him up because we were busy. He took Uber pool so he could save money. He was ecstatic while telling us that his bill came up to $6 only. “Anak binigyan mo ba sya na tip?” He said gave the driver an extra one dollar.
2. My daughter arrived in the US on May 23 and rode with Tita Eves, Tita Aileen, Tito Bong to reach Vegas on May 24. She must be very tired. A long 13.5 hours flight and another 10 hours drive.
As soon as they arrived, we went to a Filipino restaurant for lunch.
Edmund, Oyen, Me, Len, Bong, Eves. I stood up to get more water. Then I heard the cashier repeating “Asan ang laman? Asan ang laman?” She was talking to a male customer who said “Nasira ang lunch namin…..” The tsismosa me asked the guy “ano yon?” He said nag-to-go sila ng crispy pata pero hindi daw fresh. The cooking oil used was old na daw. This wasn’t the first time that this happened according to them. He and his wife wanted a refund. When the cashier noticed that the guy was talking to us, naku lalong nagalit. There was a heated argument. “Eh asan ang laman?” The cashier kept on asking the customer asan yung laman nung crispy pata. Our interpretation was that she was insinuating that the customer had eaten the meat and yet they were still complaining and wanted to have a refund.
Bakit daw puro buto na yun and asan yung laman. My sister got nervous, hindi naman sya ang kaaway, ang sabi “Miss, i refund nyo na lang”.
It was a tensed situation but afterwards we all laughed about it. My daughter was saying how I found out that there was something fishy going on. Eh tsismosa kasi ako. Kumuha lang ako ng tubig eh napansin ko meron silang argument “sinira nyo lunch namin, asan ang laman, etc”.
Before the argument started, we ordered halo-halo. Eh nagkagulo nga, yung halo-halo namin nadun sa counter walang nagse-serve. Sabi ko, “miss yung halo-halo namin natunaw na”.
3. After lunch, we proceeded to a country club.
The male white receptionist asked “Who among you speak better English?”
Hahaha lahat na offend. Sabay-sabay ang sagot “All of us!”
4. May 25
Even on a hot day tourists still walk along The Strip.
6. We went back to the outlet with Len, Yen, Bong and Eves. Oyen got attracted to this MJ bag from marc Jacobs (with her initials) but stepped back because she has a lot of bags na daw she doesn’t get to use. #discipline #shoppingcontrol
7. I went back to the cosmetics store and was able to buy the Tom Ford lipstick that I liked. Luckily there was a delivery and the shade that I wanted was included in the items the store received that morning.
8. For dinner, my husband played the gracious host by bringing us to his favorite resto, saan pa eh di balik na naman kami sa Harbour Seafood Restaurant. Kilala na kami nung cook/ manager.
We ordered their special lobster with noodles, buy one take one. I thought they would give us two plates yun pala they added one piece of small lobster daw. I feel hungry staring at this food.
9. May 26
Yen and I discovered a 24 hour smoothie place. I asked the cashier who buys smoothie at 3 in the morning. She quickly answered “no one”. She said she has to be honest.
10. The water bottle spilled inside my bag and drenched my wallet including receipts and bills. my husband was horrified when he saw me drying the dollar bills in the microwave oven. “Tart! masusunog yan!”
11. I discovered a clothing store with prices that are cheaper than TJMaxx and or Marshall’s.
I like the way the store is set up. Although their prices are low, the place don’t look like a discount store.
The merchandise is more of casual wear but there are some cocktail dresses and even long gowns.
I was shocked to see the price of this gowns– $56 each. Where can you find a long gown for $56?
Oh great I need a butt lifter. And breasts lifter, face lifter, stomach lifter, all parts of my body are sagging.
