Shopping in Megamall

I left the office at 4 and went to Megamall to buy additional raffle prices for our office party,  buy a wedding anniversary card for Edmund and Xmas tree decorations for Ford Cainta.

I was surprised that traffic was very light along EDSA.  Where did all those vehicles go?  Mga nagbakasyon na?

I got off at the Julia Vargas entrance of SM.

Me————  Deo,  dito ako bababa,  pero doon ako lalabas sa main entrance ng department store,  tapat ng San Miguel.  alam mo ba yun?

Deo———-  Yes mam.

Me———–  Bababa na ako,  saan ka magpa park?  Eto ang P40 pang parking.  Doon ako sa harap lalabas ha?

Deo———  alam ko na yun mam.

Megamall is always full of people Christmas or no Christmas  but today was particularly jampacked.

My first stop was at Goldilocks. I did not have lunch so to tide me over, I thought of buying some polvoron.
Buying polvoron is becoming too complicated. There are so many kinds nowadays. Cookies and cream? Cashew? Pinipig? Ube? Classic? Baka sa susunod meron na silang whitening, anti-pores, anti-rides, and kabibe scent.

Their designs are very much different from the cake my Kuya Junior gave me when I was 7. Noon the designs were pretty standard. There were only two choices, butter and mocha. Yung mocha pang mayaman kasi mas mahal.

The cash register rings uninterruptedly.

Peach Mango Mousse, of course, it has to be, magagalit ang Jollibee if it’s called Peach Mango Pie.

After I got my P50 pinipig pulvoron, I walked one flight down to the lower level.

I paused for 3 seconds, Do I want black pearl? no.

I stared at Mr. Quickie, maybe my subconcious mind was telling me, hmmm, di ba you have sira-sira sandals you want fixed?
That’s right, thanks for the reminder, but not today.

The table skirt has the same color and design as the tables at my niece Tintin’s debut.

What are you selling? Pastries?

I’m hungry, shall I buy Snowpy? Hmmm, no.

I entered SM department store, bumungad sa akin ay Noritake china section. Plates!

I like this. Excuse me— for 4 lang yung price? Yes mam.
Times two if for 8 pax, P25,000 na kung for 12. Mahal naman.

Sa katitingin ko ng plates, I totally forgot why I went to Megamall. I stood there for a couple of minutes. Bakit na nga ba ako nadito? Na-engross ako sa mga pinggan. Kain muna ng polvoron, baka maalala ko.

It’s been 15 minutes and I have finished my polvoron and still I couldn’t remember what I came here for. Dyos ko alzheimer na.

Now I remember, my son told me Ford Cainta’s Xmas tree needs more trimmings. I bought a 12 ft. tree and 20 pieces of balls. Kulang na kulang.

It’s hard to choose

Okay, eto na lang para daya, malalaki

Miss, expired ang SM advantage mo.
Me——— Okay, renew it. But make sure my accumulated points are transferred.
Sa 3rd floor kayo pupunta.
Me——— Hindi ba pwede dito na lang? Aakyat pa ako dun?
Pwede narin kayo dun magbayad, dalhin nyo yung mga items.

At Macy’s the sales staff can help and process anything in their own corner. But this is not Macy’s, this is our very own SM. Okay, akyat na lang ako. Kasi naman, it’s my fault, I didn’t check the expiry date. Kala ko kasi October pa lang (huh! Christmas in October?)

Daming tao, and where is the 3rd floor, one more up

Oh my Buhay, ang daming tao, I don’t want to stand in line and spend an hour.

I decided to leave. I took the escalator one floor down, kulang pa, I saw Carolina’s, maybe I can find some ribbons here for Ford Cainta’s Xmas tree.
This is so nice, pero parang mas bagay sa dress.

Excuse me, saan yung mga ribbons nyo? “Mam, dun…”

They have a gay store staff.

“Mam, hayun o…”

“mam, bagay sa inyo yan”
Me———– ” pwede ba ito pang sabit sa Xmas tree?”

He looked at me in disbelief, rolled his eyes and left me.

I have spent an hour and a half at Megamall , alis na nga ako.

There were so many people inside Body shop

After a few minutes of standing at the entrance and waiting,
Me———— “Hello, Deo, nadito na ako sa labas, nasan ka ba?”
Deo———- “Mam, nadito sa entrance, sa tapat lang”.
Me———– “Saang tapat, hindi kita makita. Diba usapan natin dito sa entrance ng Department Store?”
Deo——— dito lang ako mam, sa tapat, kung saan ko kayo ibinaba.

Pwede kaya na ang 13th month pay ay pro-rated,  computed according to IQ level?
