I have two schoolmates who are based in Las Vegas, Erly and Lily. They are so far the two people that we’ve discovered are living in the desert city. One is in Arizona which is 4 hours away. Many are in Los Angeles, such as Sarry and Odet.
Erly and Lily were both excited to see me and Alice. The four of us had a mini school reunion.
They are so sweet. Aside from bringing kare-kare and turon with langka, which Lily cooked, they even gave me a personalized cake. Our get-together became an impromptu bday celebration.
Alice’s niece Rosanna, and her family live in Las Vegas. They also gave me a cake.
Rosanna’s mom, Lita, who lives in San Diego, happens to be visiting her daughter in Las Vegas for a couple of days.
Lily loves to cook. She accepts orders for Pilipino food. Her specialties are kare-kare, guinataan, pinakbet, relyenong bangus, pansit malabon, guinataang bilo-bilo, guinataang munggo, turon with langka, caldereta, adobo, menudo, mechado, and many more. Name it and she knows how to cook it.
Alice went out of her way to fly to Las Vegas for the weekend to hang out with me, Lily, and Erly. And to spend time with her niece and her family. She and her husband Raul would be in Vegas again at the end of the month to watch a concert. She’s also bringing Erly and Lily to lunch.
These are Alice’s birthday gifts for me, including a $150 gift card from Nordstrom:
