Mother Bloggers

An authority in blogging told me that there are  many mother bloggers (sounds like mother f_ckers) and  they write about the same things.  Children, family,  work, etc.  And he is presuming that since I am a mother (effers),  I must be writing about the same things.  I can’t say that I write about the same topic as those other mothers because I haven’t seen their blogs.  But he could be right,  what else can we write about.    Of course we dwell on our favorite things— our children,  our gwapong husbands  (uy dami),  our exciting work.  However,  since we have different circumstances in life,  different interests,  different experiences, different motivations in blogging,  then there could be some variations as well.

But it’s not a bad thing.  When women congregate,  what else do we talk about?

He also said that I get a lot of hits/ page views.  And he wants to know why.   Where does my readers come from daw?  Sa America ba?

Who reads my blog?    I know,  our kalapitbahays (who hate our dogs),  current employees (spying on us),  former employees (missing us),  condominium sales agents (hi Mam,  I’m now a follower),  bankers (who follow me to make sure I don’t run away from paying my mortgage),   vain classmates (batchmate ko si Annie pero mas mukang bata ako),  corny but true.   And of course a thousand “you”.

OMB  has so far 9 million hits.   Nothing compared to the pro-bloggers’ number of hits.

But I still feel grateful to those who come to my site and find something worth their time.    Thank you.

  1. Many come to your site because of the genuine way you write. When I read your posts, I really feel the emotions you are feeling and even the most mundane situations can seem so interesting and a lot of times bring laughter and joy.

And you are right, though we moms may write about the same things, we all are under different circumstances. But maybe that’s why mommy bloggers are sprouting everywhere, we love to share our exciting lives because we somewhat relate to each other even though we differ in status or experiences in life. Mahirap, masaya, nakakaloka at biyaya ang pagiging isang ina =)

  2. This my favorite blog, why? no advertisement, this blog is all about YOU Ms. Annie.

  3. I like your style Ms A. You are sincere, humble and no pretensions. Unlike other bloggers, you don’t need to make an effort to be someone because you are already simeone.

  4. Hi Ms Annie…

You write with such enthusiasm, calmness, sincerity and honesty that is inherent among loving Moms..

So What else is there to talk about?

    EVERYTHING !!!!
(Just like Kris Aquino’s tagline in her food commercial… Hahahaha… ;-))

You write with simplicity that’s so easy to understand.. 😉 Unlike some bloggers who would use high-falluting words that u still need to GOOGLE it in order to understand it.. 😀

Enjoy ur weekend with ur loving family, Ms Annie.. Take care and be safe always..

    God bless u .. 😉

  5. Ms. Annie you are indeed a “mother blogger” in the truest sense because you are: 1) a mother and 2) a blogger hehe. Other mother bloggers tend to be more serious and formal. Their blog posts tend to revolve/focus about being their mother. They woundn’t dare blog about their kunsumisyon with their househelp or their honest views regarding being a ninang sa kasal!
They (other mother bloggers) are too good to be true.

Your blog is way different. If I can describe it by comparing it to food, I would say it’s like HALO-HALO. You can talk about anything under the sun: the news, art & paintings, your business, social events you attend, your pangaral to your children, health issues, food trips, vacations, and even buying fish at the fish port in Rizal! You even freely blog about your faith and prayers to God and your emotional feelings. You are not afraid to show us your vulnerabilities.

What I love most about your blog is that you can talk about simple and mundane things… day to day happenings that when you blog about it, it is like you’re just making “kwento” to us, like you are our dear friend or our tita. Kaya kaming mga readers mo feeling ka-close ka na even when we haven’t personally met you yet!

The way you talk about your family, dogs, employees, kapitbahay, life events etc. is so natural and down to earth, no pretentions. That makes you so endearing to all of us your avid readers.

I can say you are not just a mother blogger but an all-around blogger. I think it would best to describe you as a LIFE blogger. 🙂

    Please don’t stop blogging.
