November 25, 2017 Saturday
Edmund joined Southwood’s 25th anniversary tournament last Saturday so instead of coming home to change and pick us up, we agreed that he would just go straight to his sister Net’s residence where my mother in law was having her 84th birthday celebration. It was actually a double birthday celebration. Kai’s debut and her Lola Soling’s 84th.
I was having a very bad migraine that afternoon. With only 3 hours sleep the night before, I took a little Bonamine to make me sleep. I slept from 2:30- 4 pm.
I still have migraine when I woke up. I waited till the pain subsided before we left our house at almost 6 pm. It subsided a little but it did not go away completely.
Oyen said the attire should be Bohemian. So nag-effort pa kami to look a little Bohemian.
I wore a lace dress, and a red strappy sandals I’ve only worn thrice.
Ayaw masuot, hard to put on the straps. My daughter helped me. Huwag na daw akong bumili uli ng ganun, ang hirap isuot. She asked me to wear something else ayaw ko, feel ko ito isuot.
It took us almost two hours to reach Alabang. It was traffic all the way to the village’s main gate.
There were at least 30 young girls in the living room attending the 18th bday of Kai daughter of Edmund’s sister Wilma. It was actually a double birthday celebration. Kai’s debut and her lola Soling’s 84th. We placed our gift on the small table.
Wilma hired the services of an event’s stylist to put some nice touches in the living room and lanai.
The styling was so pretty. I told Wilma I am going to hire her friend too next time I have a party at home. She said mahal daw.

My in laws and Kai’s classmates and friends had dinner already when Oyen and I arrived at around 7:45 pm.
I ate three servings of delicious truffle lechon rice. I didn’t eat anymore the pasta.
The birthday girl, Soling, with her amiga
Edmund attended the awarding ceremony in Southwoods that’s why he was a little late to his mom’s dinner party. He arrived at 8 pm.
The only one missing was Edward, who now lives in Canada with his family. His siblings woke him up and panned the dining room so he could greet everyone but the internet connection was cut.
Edgar and youngest son Chad. I thought Chad is still in high school yun pala he’s now a professor in Ateneo. He’s only 22 yata.
We used the backdrop of Kai who celebrated her 18th birthday at the same time. Kai is the daughter of Doctors Roald and Wilma.
Edwin with daughter Eizelle (architect) and son Nico
Their two other daughters are based abroad.
Pwede daw mag-uwi ng bulaklak. This one’s mine.
When I’m 84
My mother in law is blessed not only with kind, loving and successful children but she has the gift of life. She had a bout of mild pneumonia two weeks before her birthday. She’s 84 and still is generally healthy. I hope to live up to 84 and beyond and still be healthy and agile, maybe 88 or 94 (ambisyon). I wish the same for my family and to all of you.
Bonamine is no longer being manufactured for sale in Canada and is no longer available under any brand names. Is it safe for migraines and can be used to induce sleep? Regatds?
Hi Alvin,
Several years ago I was having continuous severe migraine attacks which landed me in the emergency room twice in a row. I was sent to a neurologist to make sure it was nothing more serious. I mentioned to the neurologist that I’ve been taking Bonamine for the past many years. And since I only take a tiny piece like 1/4 and only occasionally, he said he has no problem with that. No doctor prescribed it to me but I just discovered that a tiny piece helps me curb my headache and it also makes me sleepy.
