I arrived at the grand ballroom of Dusit Thani hotel at exactly 6 pm. I thought the event would start on time or at least guests would arrive on time, or at least the venue would be ready by then. But no, I was the very first guest to arrive followed by Dan Madlansacay. The waiters were still busy prepping up the place. They haven’t rolled down the read carpet.
Food was ready but there were no guests yet. Same excuse, traffic.
And why are you doing it only now when I am already here? You should have done that at least an hour ago. I wasn’t able to walk on the red carpet when I entered the ballroom.

The wife of the ambassador was particularly proud of this dish. Before the program started, she brought me to the buffet and told me that this dish is from their country. She’s such a gracious host.
And this black river sea weed too (khay pan).
Dan Madlansacay, His Excellency Ambassador, and Mrs. Phoxay Khaykhamphithoune OMB, Caloy Yturzaeta.
Amb. Phoxay has two children, both boys. The eldest, 19, is taking up engineering at DLSU. The younger one is 12. They both like the Philippines and don’t want to live.
I asked about the traffic from their residence to Taft Avenue. She said they sleep in the car.
I have trouble pronouncing the name of the spouse of the ambassador, Souddavone KHAYKHAMPHITHOUNE.
