From my lunch in Daly City, I went to Union Square. Len and I met at the Louis Vuitton Boutique where she went shopping for a new Never Full shoulder bag with maroon lining and an attached pouch/wallet. She already has one like this (but without the pouch) she bought at the LV store in Greenbelt in Manila four years ago.

The personalized LV bags are ordered from France and shipped to SFO in 6 weeks or less. The cost is around $500 on top of the cost of the bag.

From LV, we walked around the square to Saks Fifth Avenue, where Aileen’s long time friend (from the Philippines), Joselito, works at the female shoes section. She came to say hi but he was too busy attending to many customers. Hindi sila nakapag-kwentuhan. We tried on shoes but they didn’t have my size for the style that I liked.

We were walking to Neiman Marcus when we saw the Hermes store.
Pasok kami, libre tingin. I always go in every time I see a Hermes store in any city I visit. This would be my first time in this store. I never had any interest to go in before.

One of the sales specialists, Ian Raz, was friendly and accommodating. He entertained all our questions. He said they have a Kelly but it’s in crocodile leather and has diamonds. I told him, “we cannot afford that. Wait till we win in the lotto”. He laughed. Then he said “I have something for you”.
Ooops nanerbyos ako. Ano kaya ang ilalabas nya. Baka kami mapasubo. Baka magka durug-durog ang credit cards namin.

He came out after two minutes with the big orange box.
He carefully placed the box on top of the glass display case and opened it slowly. We were not breathing. Jaraaang. Out came this big bag called Birkin Shoulder. Buti na lang hindi ko type. Price tag? $12,800 plus about 9% tax. The color is actually very light green but this photo looks grayish.

Len likes this casual Hermes shoulder bag a lot. Perfect color, perfect size, perfect fit she said.

When she was two or three years old, while playing on the side of our house picking up tiny stones, she was hit by a passing jeepney and was thrown several feet away. The driver didn’t see her because she was too tiny. She broke her left shoulder. This bag doesn’t hurt her shoulder she says.
Perfect na perfect. One problem though, the price is not perfect. It’s about $8,200 inclusive of tax. She returned it and told the guy, she will include it in her wish list. The guy said, yes, it’s almost Christmas.

We took the Bart back to Hayward. We came in separate vehicles. She parked on the ground floor. I parked on the top floor. It was past 7 pn when we arrived and madilim na. I have difficulty driving at night. Nasisilaw ako sa mga ilaw at nalilito ako sa mga kalye.

When we were still living in Binangonan with my parents, mga bata pa kami, madalas si Aileen mapagalitan ng Papa ko kasi daw si bilmoko. Sabi ng mama ang bukam-bibig daw ni Aileen ay bili mo ako. Mahilig magpa bili. Gastadera daw. Ngayon hindi na sya bilmoko. Malaki na sya at meron ng trabaho. Ang maririnig mo na sa kanya ay “Bibili ako nyan, pag nagka pera ako, siguro next year”.
