She said back in Minnesota her job is also a night club stripper. She would go to Las Vegas every now and then to dance in bigger strip clubs because Minnesota is quieter and not too many customers. She finds working in Vegas more lucrative that’s why she decided to stay put.

I didn’t know that the dancers are the ones paying the club fees so they could have the opportunity to work there. I thought the dancers have a salary or a per hour PLUS they earn extras from the tips. Mali pala. She said the club fees are from $60 to $80 per night depending on how popular it is.

The dancers earn it back in just 15 minutes. In her case, she gets $140 by dancing for 15 minutes plus the cash thrown to the stage by the customers. She said men like to shower them with $100 in $1 bills. Some throw $20s $100s. After the dance, someone comes to give her a bucket so she could collect all the cash on the floor. It could reach thousands. In her experience, the most she had earned in one night was $7,500. Sometimes $5,700.
She can earn $1,500 by dancing for one hour in a VIP room plus tips.

She said men have different preferences in terms of women’s bodies. Some look for malaman. Yung medyo mataba. Kala ko gusto lang nila yung no fats and no MSG. May pag-asa pa pala tayo.

I asked her if she practices dancing or attends dancing lessons. She laughed. She said no. She takes a few drinks and just wing it. Men don’t care with the dancing she said. Kaya rin natin yan, giling giling lang ang balakang. Basta galaw -galaw ka lang ng mabagal na parang ahas. But to do it for one whole night, nakakapagod din yan. That’s physically tiring.

But that’s me, an ordinary person. People who have no qualms of wasting that much money in one night in a night club are no ordinary dudes. Either they are insanely wealthy or in serious debt.

The Uber driver told me if he earns $7,700 he will stop driving the Uber for a month. He’ll go to Mexico with his wife and have a grand vacation. He said if the lady earns thousands of dollars a night how come he picked her up from an apartment complex and how come she is sharing a ride and not getting her own car. I told him maybe she’s saving money so she could buy her own car and a house.
