Morning news: Meralco profit jumped by so BILLION….
Power rate in our country is one of the highest in the world and yet we are one of the poorest countries. How ironic.
Pwede bang ma kontento na sila SA BILYON- BILYON nila at wag nang itaas ang kuryente?
We should stop referring to Meralco as service provider. We should refer to them as our salaries and wages snatcher.
Edmund hates darkness. As soon as he comes home at night, he would start switching-on the lights. Pag talikod naman nya, pinapatay ko agad yung mga ilaw. Even during daytime, when he enters his banyo, lahat ng ilaw binubuksan. Minsan I didn’t notice he was still there, I switched-off the lights. “Tart! wag mong patayin!”
Morning news: Mag-asawa nag bugbugan dahil sa taas ng kuryente ng Meralco.
A few years ago, when I received our Meralco bill, I tried to analyze it to find out how our bills were computed; I couldn’t figure out how. The computation presented on the bill didn’t tally with my own computation. I called their hotline and I didn’t get any answer. I totally agree, we really are at the mercy and whim of these power companies. They want to increase their bottomline, they just increase the rate. Do you remember a few years back during a past election, Sen. Enrile’s campaign promise was to bring down power rates? Almost everyone I know voted for him. But when he won, he never touched on the issue at all. I wonder how come this coming election, no candidate included this in their platform. Is it because the power providers are untouchables?
Oh my, my comment became part of your daily blog, but thank you, Ms. Yee. My extra 2 cents– I find it funny that an article came out in Phil Star yesterday quoting Meralco officials as expecting their income for this season to go up for 2 reasons. First, since it is summer and, second, since Solaire Resort is opening. We, consumers, really are under their monopoly.
Hi Olivia, I saw that article too. We are at their mercy. Thanks for reading ohmybuhay.
