Nobu is among my favorite restaurants in NY.
Robert de Niro is a partner of Chef Nobu Matsuhisa in Nobu New York.
Nobu opened its flagship store in Tribeca in 1994, but I haven’t been there. I’ve only been to this one (a couple of times) at 40 West, 57th Street, just off Fifth Avenue.
The restaurant has a Michelin Star, so don’t go there expecting to spend a few bucks for your meal. Never drop in without making a reservation in advance, or else you could spend an hour or two waiting.
Dress code is also observed.
Wear at least Smart Casual. No shorts, no sando.
All-Japanese chefs at the sushi bar.
Very delicious Shiitake Mushroom Salad $14 (good to share)
Rock Shrimp Tempura with Creamy Spicy Sauce (good to share)
Soft Shell Crab Roll
I prefer dining here during daytime because it’s so dark inside, especially at night.
I placed my bag beside this sculpture located outside the Nobu restaurant to give you a sense of how big the sculpture is.
