We went shopping at Nordstrom Rack in Fremont after eating at Toppings. It was almost 8 pm but the sky was still bright.
It was Bong who introduced me a couple of years ago to Nordstrom Rack. The items are actually not cheap, but they are less expensive than when buying at regular prices from their upscale department store Nordstrom. Depending on how sipag you are in going through their racks of clothes, you can find branded dresses that are marked down by as much as 70%. I once bought a Giorgio Armani dress for 80% off. the original price was a thousand dollars, then discounted by 50%, then another 50% kaya parang $250 na lang. Pero ang mahal pa rin di ba? I sat there for 30 minutes holding the beautiful gorgeous dress made of soft velvet. I went back and forth to the fitting room. It was a size SMALL and that time I was medium. Hindi ko maisara ang zipper, na -stuck pa ako hindi ko na sya mahubad. The cashier gave me another 50% off kaya parang $125 na lang lumabas. I was so thrilled. I haven’t worn it yet even once, kasi I was waiting to lose weight. However, through the years, instead of slipping back from medium to small, I am now a Large, kaya the dress remains in the closet. Puro alikabok na. I have lost hope that I would be able to fit in it. Aside from plates, that gorgeous Giorgio Armani would end up inherited by Julienne. However, she’s a medium. Anak, magpa-payat ka nga para magkasya sa’yo.
I was already carrying a pair of cute pink sandals by Vera Wang to the cashier when I saw the tatak, Made in China. I returned it.
I love lacey dresses. I bought this one, it looks vintage but it’s not. Note that it’s Made in USA. Remember dear co-Filipinos, Edmund said we should refrain from buying Made in China products until after the Scarborough conflict has been resolved. They too, have stopped eating our bananas.
